You cant beat a sunday roast at the Poet. Delicious food, first class every time. Excellent service and extremely accommodating our various food requirements.

This is a lovely pub, attentive but unfussy service, incredible food and is very good value. We visited as a family for mother's day with a (weening) baby. We could not have been made more welcome. The menu was a mother's day set menu, which was very well thought out and offered enough choice, despite its 'Sunday Lunch' leanings. Good... More

When I suggested to my clients we get lunch at a local gastro pub I was expecting anything as good as this! The Poet looks like an average country pub however the food is excellent. We had a simple burger for the main course followed by the most INCREDIBLE chocolate hot pot for desert. If you like chocolate you will... More

Our first but not our last visit. The set menu is great value but we chose to mix and match. I chose the bream from the set menu which was the star of the show. Great selection of gins and aperitifs with a sensibly priced wine list. Very friendly staff. Looking forward to a return visit.

Our first time visit to the Poet on Saturday night did not disappoint. The food and service were impeccable. Top quality food from amuse-bouche to desserts, the service was well timed and attentive, but not overly so. Overall an excellent experience comparable to some of the Michelin stared restaurant we have been to. Thoroughly recommended.

absolutely amazing meal. We both had the set menu for dinner and were bowled over by the quality of the food. Service and drinks were also very good. The only other time either of us have had food like this was at a michelin starred restaurant. Very well priced menu and beautiful meal. We were the only people in there... More

First time visit and what a fabulous surprise. Been to other pubs in the village but this really was a Sunday lunch like no other and for a reasonable price for 3 courses. The location is lovely and you will receive a warm welcome. Pre lunch drinks meant my husband was spoilt for choice with the incredible gin selection. There... More

We 4 of us went for Sunday lunch about 6 weeks ago and I have been meaning to write about my experience. I loved it! I had the most gorgeous roast beef, so did my friend. The others ate something else and we were all very pleased and satisfied. The starters were also fabulous. Can't fault this dining experience. Will... More

Decided to try 'The Poet' after hearing great things about it and we were not disappointed! The food is amazing, the wine was very enjoyable and the staff were very friendly...even telling us about the history of the building. Defiantly will be going back!

We went for dinner on a Saturday evening. The staff were very welcoming. There was a great choice of gins to have as a pre-dinner drink and served in fantastic glasses - as good as you'd make at home. There was only one quail starter left when we were choosing but they let us know and put it on hold... More
