Honest flavors. I have to say that it has the best ladopita of those we tried on the island. Famous for its meatballs... now personal opinion, we didn't like them but they are strange! What can you say!!
If they make an effort to fix up the space a bit, keeping the character of the store, it might be of some interest. After all, it is a cafe that serves something more than snacks!

What do you want the heat, what do you want uphill and the lunch hour in Chora is difficult. The shop is nice with kind staff and the boss is helpful and typical.
We got middle ages, not goats and such in the heat🥵. Honest flavors without anything special...

Great place with totally reasonable prices, given the top quality of food and service this family business provides. I wish I could find a place like this in my home town. Keep up the good work!

Shop with very good food, regular prices, honest and very nice case if you want to eat well in Chora. It has kept the old style, looks like a coffee shop - box, but I followed the rule. If you see locals eating somewhere, come in. It's good.
What we ate, fair amounts and very good local cuisine.

This place is an authentic Greek restaurant. The food tastes exactly like a Greek grandma’s and the staff is very polite and helpful. Definitely recommended.

Food ok, nothing to go back for and too pretentious.
They will take a reservation if you’re some kind of celebrity or a friend of theirs.

On beautiful Skyros town's main alley are several restaurants. Two - which happen to be next to each other - were our favourites: The 'Filema' and here the 'Barba Giannis kai Maritsa' (Uncle John and Maritsa). Apparently these two persons, honoured in the place's name, once started this eatery back in the 1950's, thus being probably the oldest here.
We liked the set up of this restaurant, which calls itself 'Traditional Coffeeshop and Mezedopoleio'. Inside there are some black and white photos on the wall, often with men in their 'Vrakes', the typical blue - and unique for Skyros - trousers once worn here.
My wife and me came twice here for dinner and both times we ordered the same dish: Arni lemonato (Lamb with Lemon Sauce), which was just fantastic, even the French fries which accompanied them and which we usually don't eat.
Excellent are also their open housewines: a rather strong White and a very good, almost a bit rosé-like Red, served in the old-fashioned pitcher. The Greek coffee in the end came with a 'kaimaki' on top, that little white foam, which is a sign of a well done coffee. We also liked their Tsipouro - from Tsililis in Thessaly, considered one of the best in the market.
