I have been a customer of Courtland Bakery for years now. Buying from cakes to deli, trying all you have to offer. BUT when I came in today to buy some stuff. The girl on the Till said there is now a 1 dollar charge...for using debit. That is totally wrong as all your prices like any other place factor in the debit in the prices. This is just way to gouge debit card users as 99% of customers pay by debit. That's how the world turns. TO gain a buck, you have just lost many dollars from me. TERRIBLE YOU CHOOSE TO CHARGE IF YOU USE DEBIT.More

The bakery here is very old fashioned and has lots of fresh baked goodies. Tarts, cookies, pastries of all sorts. A fresh deli on hand too. Don't forget the delicious coffee. Service is always friendly.

We recently stopped at the Courtland bakery to check out the fresh baked goodies. There was lots of freshly baked bread, tarts, cookies and pastries. Staff was friendly and attentive. Covid safety procedures were followed by staff. Loved the cheese crowns and Danish. Always worth...the stop.More

We went in August 31 and the customer service was atrocious. We assumed as we passed by that it was a cute, friendly, family bakery. However it will not take you many steps inside the bakery before one of the employees is barking at you about...following orders and treating you like you’re in military boot camp…. We are all adults here, you can speak to me like a civilized human beating. Rant over, will never return.More

My family has come here for many years when going up to visit my family in the Lake Erie area and have always loved their baked goods! Unfortunately, I’ve noticed the past few times we’ve gone everything has tasted like absolute crap with a side...of extra dry. On top of that when we went in recently the service was so rude; my aunt asked to know what doughnuts were available and the woman was very snarky, and told my aunt to just “look over there” at the board, but that would be tough for her as she has a visual impairment due to a chronic illness/disability. My mother was also getting the stink eye/major side eye from the woman checking us out, presumably because she was taking to long? I just found all the staff handling the front counter to be so rude and short tempered, so that as soon as we got out the door I vowed never to go back in there again. Bonus points for also getting our order wrong and the honey dip doughnut being so dry my little cousin started choking on it 😳🙄More

Today I went to the bakery with my kids and I was not impressed when I left. First of all I asked for the dutch apple pie and received a cream pie instead. Then the owner Mrs. Peazel asked my kids to leave the store...(we were already at the checkout and getting ready to pay). Mrs. Peazel wanted my kids to leave so that they could bring more customers in - the door to go in had only 5 customers in the store at a time but the store had at least 7 customers - the customers are let in by the staff so therefore in my opinion my kids should not have been asked to leave as we were getting ready to pay and leave. If letting more customers in to selected their items is more important than a customer paying for their items something is seriously wrong. It will be a long time before I will be returning to this bakery. Thanks alot to the staff for ruining my day.More

Saw the sign on the door and waited. Sign says no anger will be tolerated from customers. Walked inside when someone walked outside as instructed. Waited inside the door in the "spot" for a sales woman to serve me. One approached and I asked for...2 beef rolls, heated and she left to fetch them. (On the far side of the store.) I approached a shelf to look at product and a grey haired woman behind the counter shrieked at me to "get back where I was supposed to be!" I (startled) told her someone was serving me. In disbelief, she yelled "who!" At that point, my person came back with rolls in hand and this woman had the audacity to yell at her "Are you serving her?" Pointing at me. At this point, I yelled back at her "Do you think I'm a liar?" No indication from this woman that I even existed. I again then took a step towards the cash register and the same woman yelled at me to stand back and stopped me from trying to shop. My poor clerk had to yell at me asking if there was anything else I wanted. We were at least twenty feet apart, so I yelled back at her my bread order! Then I yelled out "can I approach the cash register now?" Looking at the grey haired clerk. No indication she'd heard. As I paid for my things, my clerk began to apologize and I told her she had nothing to apologize for, all the while within earshot of the offensive woman, No attempt at an apology from her. She wouldn't even look at me. I drove an hour to buy the product here. Support small business they cry and this is how a person gets treated. Thank you to my sweet clerk and boo to the grumpy old woman who thinks that yelling at customers is okay. I hope you have better days than today and maybe a sorry here and there might save you some heartache in the future. I might also start making my own bread,More

Picked up some horrible undercooked croissants, some rancid salami and stale creme horns this past week. The owners refuse to wear any kind of mask to protect against covid 19 so it makes it easier for the vulnerable seniors to feel unsafe. Love their lack...of respect and terrible business model.More

This is the place to go in Oxford and Norfolk counties for quality baked goods. They have no equal in the area. We buy our meat pies, pastries and occasionally bread from them. We also will drop by for a light lunch as well.

Courtland is between Tillsonburg and Delhi on Highway 3. Someone goofed with the map. There is a new bakery in SImcoe called Viking. It is downtown. The people are from Toronto.
