It’s an italian restaurant located in a agreable place, but the food isn’t delicious. Good prices , honest food but not unforgetble.
Small, nice family restaurant in Itaipava. Ample offer of pizzas and pasta, with well prepared sauces. The place is comfortable and quiet, but I couldn’t see anything special to make it stand out of the others.
Farfarrello is an excellent Italian restaurant located between Itaipava and Petropolis. Located in a beautiful location this restaurant is always full because of the quality of the food and service. The wine list is good and very reasonably priced.
"Farfarello Restaurante" has been a tradition among restaurants in Rio's mountain region of Petrópolis and Itaipava for over thirty years! Its pastas, sauces and "thin" pizzas have been eaten by different generations of local families and also by visitors! A nice venue - surrounded by...lush vegetation - a cozy decoration and a limited parking area. Nice menu and adequate wine list, both a bit overpriced. Reservations are highly recommended, principally on weekends. Bon Appétit!More
We have gone there for lunch and I had sirloin steak and potatoes. Both awfully prepared. I do not care about the price, however, as the meat was as tough as wood, I would not a penny for that kind of food. For the same...price we have real sirloin steak in many places in Rio. I cannot recommend this restaurant for eating meat. Forget it.More
This is a traditional Italian restaurant at Itaipava for many years. The facility is a nice house, located in a quiet and pleasant place. Parking is available. Environment and waiters are simple, Italian-style and good. Dishes are very good. Some pasta is handmade by the...staff of the restaurant – and they are excellent! Prices are medium. If you visit Itaipava or surroundings, this a good tip to visit.More
We went in for dinner with a large group (about 10 ppl) in January. We were seated immediately, which was surprising to me. The wait staff was pleasant, but could speak better English. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the dish I had,...but it was great ... prepared on the spot. Very fresh, tasty and the portion was good, too. Overall a great experience.More
We came for dinner on a holiday night. Restaurant was full but waiting time was very short. Service was very quick and efficient. Environment inside is cosy. My lasagna was not very warm, although surrounded by boiling sauce. A gnocchi al sugo had very strong...garlic taste. Food was just ok, below the expectations created by menu prices.More
Some of the sauces does not taste as good as it use to be. But it is indeed a good option for a nice meal in itaipava with a reasanoble price.
I am a frequent customer for more than 25 years, and Farfarello kept pretty much the same through all this time. Excellent price performance for a every day lunch/dinner or to celebrate a special date. The pasta is all home made, it has many options...of sauces, good wines and good service at reasonable prices. May be not the best restaurant in town, but it is always a very safe choice for a good meal.More
This is a fair place to have an Italian meal near Petrópolis. Several options of pasta and other possibilities. Waiters do their best in order to please customers. I suggest the "Provoleta", fantastic.
In the absence of other reviews in English, if you're visiting Petrópolis and Itaipava from abroad do take the time to pay a visit to Farfarello. It's a very traditional Italian in Itaipava, from before this once calm small town by the road became a...traffic jam. You will find the typical Italian dish, but you will also find others with a discrete but effective Brazilian twist. My favourite, tagliatelli al pollo, is one of those, with its beautifully rich cream made with typical Brazilian Catupiry cheese. Farfarello can be slightly on the overpriced side, but don't let the bill get on the way of your visit.More
