Since it started raining, and we were tired an hungry we bumped into this place. Ordered some kind of "best of" plate for two, containing duck, meat, sausages, varieties of dumplings and cabbage. And Pilsner, of course. Food was so-so, not the best I had in Prague, but satisfying. Service (waitress) could be less grumpy and smile more. Paid 500... More

So good I went back next day. Went there because recommended by Honest Prague Guide. They have wide offerings of authentic Czech food. Tried their goulash, scikova and steak, of cause along with a Pilsner :) Definitely a place I'll recommend not because it's inexpensive but for it's authentic and good tasting food. Service is good but might be a... More

I came here based on a guide book recommendation, and fortunately the place continues to seemingly be popular with locals even though there were certainly a number of tourists in there. Came here for dinner during a holiday week and weren't initially able to get a table. We were told they would let us know when a table was available,... More

My husband and I ate in the tavern on our last day in Prague because it was highly rated by Rick Steves. The drawings on the walls of midevil bawdy pictures are fun to look at as you eat and sip on a beer. However the food was mediocre and the waitress we had came with a bit of an... More

This place was recommended by my walking tour guide. Its location is very central close to the old town. It seems very popular among the locals as there was a group of young professionals (who look like they work nearby) having lunch while we were there. Portions are decent and food taste is good. We ordered grill sausages, goulash and... More

Cheap Czech cuisine with good beer, why not? Went there twice during our stay (maybe didn't deserve a second visit but still we enjoyed it!).

Stopped by for a quick beer and was rudely told by the server to leave because they were full. When we asked if we could simply stand at the bar for a drink he shrugged and walked away. As we turned to order a drink the same waiter came back and again told us to leave because they were full.... More

It was the first place we went during our stay in Prague. Grumpiest waitress I have ever seen in my life. Beer was just thrown on the table and the "traditional Czech food" was not really delicious. I have left over more than 60% and the waitress didn't even wonder. Nothing more to say.

Traditionally great place to have lunch or dinner, with normal prizes and interesting decoration. Service is ok, only problem is finding a free table. There is a good exchange office near Provaznice, so many tourists go there after changing the money. And...order black Kozel, by my opinion the best beer in the world.

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
