We were very lucky to be staying in a hotel (Old Town Hilton) that was only a short walk to this beautiful building. We went for lunch and returned for dinner on the same day because it was so delicious. There is a tourist menu that allows you to have an entree, main and little snack. We had the beef... More

Old cafe in Art Deco style is special experience which fulfills the true spirit off Prague. Live jazz band and domestic cakes offered by a waiter on trolley is nice. All interior is gorgeous and gives a feeling about good old times.

Just popped in for quick drink and cake, the cakes are delicious and come round on a trolley - there was no music or piano player when we visited which would have been nice, but still nice experience.

We came here a few times as the service was good, the building was beautiful & it was like afternoon tea at The Ritz but without the silly prices. Lovely for tea & a cake or a glass of wine.

If you visit the Obecni dum I urge you to visit the cafe if just for a cup of coffee or a beer. The archicture and furnishings are superb. Food isn''t half bad either. We had morning coffee there, and then a light supper in the evening after a concert held in the basement of the same building. A very... More

My friends and I took a brake at this particular cafe and we were not dissapointed as their domestic beer was one of the better ones that we tried in Prague and we tried a lot. Stuff speaks fluent english but you dont feel comfortable around them as they arent relaxed enough.

Before a concert we had an early supper in this beautiful place. The food was good so is the service. We did enjoy our experience very much, and recommend all visitors to Praha to stop and eat at this place before a concert.

On our last afternoon wandering round, we wanted somewhere nice to have a lunch! Judging by the look of it we thought it was way too expensive. We couldn't be more wrong. The atmosphere was so relaxed and we were made to feel very welcome. We ordered our food, which was amazing, had alcoholic drinks and the best desserts ever... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
