Lovely decor and location, was warned service sometimes surly but the staff went beyond rude. We were purposefully ignored, after asking several times to order our drinks, one waiter was busying himself straightening chairs avoiding eye contact, the other making small talk with other customers, it was beyond belief! After 15 minutes we got up to leave and the waiter... More

Great hot chocolate and cakes. Service timely and polite. Shame about the smoke filled air from cigarettes, bring on the smoking restrictions.

Nice decor fresh cakes good coffee. Smoking area affects whole cafe. It stinks of cigarettes. Missing some cool swing music. Staff is ignoring you and don't care that much but dont get your hopes up and you wont get burned ;)

The coffee and cake were great, the service had a certain classic flair. But the real draw was the cubist architecture and furniture. I absolutely recommend visiting the café and soaking up the ambience!

This is a cafe you should visit when in Prague. The cafe is still the same when it was first opened. The atmosphere is great, takes you back in time. The staff were very helpful and the food and drinks were good. It took us some time to find as you have to go up stairs to get to it, well... More

Grand Café Orient is one of my favorite places in Prague historic district. Service is always excellent and often we were lucky and we could enjoy the live piano music. I would appreciate if they would change it to a non-smoking place, since this is the main reason why I have not visited Café recently. If you do not mind... More

After being turned away from the restaurant we had intended to visit, Le Grill (should have booked a table!) my husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant. I can only speak as I found and it was warm, inviting, with friendly efficient staff and the food was delicious! I loved the atmosphere and having now read previous reviews, maybe we... More

Had a wonderful time: decor was stunning, menu was even better than expected, it was really quiet so we could chose the table that suited us best (most tables have got a lovely view) and half way through the meal, a delightful pianist smoothly entertained us. Everything (from the cadre, the waiter, the drinks, starters, main course and dessert) was... More

Nicely displayed items and many reasonable prices. Lots of old cooking utensils and dishes, jewelry, baskets, and farm tools. I didn't buy anything but had an enjoyable time looking through many shelves and "rooms." A fun place to spend a couple hours if you enjoy looking at old stuff. It's like a museum, except if you like something you can... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
