Service nice but the duck was dry on all 4 plates. Not to recommend ! Fresh duck as I do at home is soft ! This duck had been warmed up . Plates were cold. Price outrageous for Tschech standard.

We picked this out of our guide book as it was only fifteen minutes walk from our hotel. The food lived up to the praise in the guidebook. Wine by the 15cl glass was exactly one firth the price of a 75cl bottle - why don't more restaurants do this?

If you want to have traditional czech food, this is the right place for you. Every meal is made with so much love - you can taste that everywhere from the starter to the desert. Also the service is excellent and really friendly! We were 4 people and paid for starter, main course and one dessert to share about 100€.... More

A lot of Austrian influence. Small 8 table in the heart of new town. Exceptional......had goose cream soup with dumplings that could have been a hearty meal on the cold Nov night. Followed by roast duck with fresh plum sauce. My wife had the simple rainbow trout......all was outstanding. Saw other guests indulging in goose, everyone enjoying. Very reasonable as... More

In Prague with my four siblings we discovered this excellent traditional restaurant near our apartment. We were served in a separate room by an excellent waiter. The food served was very tasty and came promptly. Really nothing to fault and we would make an effort to find this restaurant if back in prague.

Growing up in the Chicago area my Grandmother who emmigrated from what would become the Czech Republic would take us to the Czech House for a special Sunday dinner. My lunch at Restaurant U Ciriny brought back memories; I had the "Slowly roasted duck with potato and celery puree and plum sauce"...it was wonderful. The restaurant is a quaint family... More

Very cosy, comfortable restaurant near Charles Square. We loved the beef stroganoff and duck risotto. Very fairly priced and good service.

A lucky find off the beaten track close to Wenceslas Square. We enjoyed the quiet cosy atmosphere and the traditional menu so much we went back for a second dinner. The food was very good and excellent value. Thankfully it was one of those little gems that remains a secret!

Although highly recommended, I wouldn't give this place a second chance. After entering in the restaurant we were "welcomed" by the waitor, who showed us in the smoking area in which it was impossible to breath and eat. The waitor didn't even mention whether there is a non smoking section. The ambiance with was really not good and I wouldn't... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
