As always in Prague the beer was good as was the coffee - simply that you will pay more for location on the patio overlooking the square. Where a reasonable beer will cost near 50 koruna most places - here it will cost you almost double that - with a caffe latte at over 100 koruna. Certainly not cheap but... More

I've been there 2 times this last week. Got bolognaise first time - carbonara 2nd time. Bolognsise was awful. I assumed a once off. Carbonara was genuinely THE WORST EVER ! It's difficult to see how they got it so wrong.

We had a quick lunch on the terrace. Waiters were very accommodating and food was ok at reasonable prices. Terrace was excellent to look at all the movements of people on the square.

We only had a beer here. The terrace was nice with nice views over the square. The service was friendly enough. Sadly we were seated next to a noisy stag party, so left rather quickly.

We were wandering around Old Town, and trying to find a decent restaurant, as the ones recommended to us were all full. We decided to wander into this place, which had plenty of available seating. The atmosphere is wonderful, right in the middle of Old Town square, with one of the cathedrals right in view. It is outdoor seating, but... More

It was an unexpected cold, rainy and blustery day. We were cold and tired after being on a walking tour for 4 hours. Once we arrived at the the Old Town Square, we excused ourselves from the tour to find a warm place to sit, have some lunch and warm up. Most of the restaurants have outdoor dining with heaters,... I would guess they pay a premium to be right on the Old Town Square, so you would think they would have premium food to go with the premium prices and premium location. Oh well. The coffee was ok, homemade lemonade with the meal was horrible, and the meal ordinary. If you want that "watching the world go by" experience... More

Great location, but that's all. Horrible "homemade lemonade", arrogant staff. Don't go there, even if you are very tired.

The coffee was fine and the location perfect. But despite a low number of costumers we had to wait quit a while to order, while the staff stood around chatting. When we wanted to use the rest room, we were refered to a public toilet and refused access to the one in the café.

I've been reading through some of the 1 and 2 star reviews, and I'm so glad that it wasn't just us who had such a rude waiter, although not as bad as some! We had had such a brilliant day, and his attitude completely ruined it for us. The food was alright, nothing to rave about, but when we paid... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
