Nice atmosphere and good service, food was average Gullash soup to start ok, wienershnitzel was quite a time to arrive, but the batter was not good, I am not a chef but my guess is that the oil was not hot enough, but all in all a decent enough meal and the location and the buzz on a Saturday night... This Bar - Restaurant was right across the road from our Hotel, so a handy safe stumbling distance (Hic!) We had unexpectedly bumped into friends on the flight out, so had wandered round the city together. After an early morning start we were running out of steam and ambled back towards our hotels in the same street. La Republica looked... More

Had a meal here and everything was tasty and served promptly. Live entertainment and decent prices. Could do with a kids menu.

Food was good, service was prompt. We sat upstairs along banister and loved the view of the main dining room and the fantastic bar. We took our friends the next... More

Ok this place is a bit odd. We arrived at a little after 8:00 could see empty tables went in and told sorry all full. We stated we would happy to wait. Said again all full for the evening. We must have looked pitiful or confused because he said let's look up stairs. Went up and several empty tables. I... More

Tradtional Czech food, Huband ate the pig knee and he loved it! I ate the duck - it was also good. The waiter was pleasant and very helpful.

From Gulasch all the way to Pork Knuckle, fries and grilled Veggies, comfortable and casual restaurant with great beer variety and one of my favorites Pilsen Urquel. I can only recommend this place.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
