Although away from the main tourist hotspots in Prague, this bar & restaurant is worth the detour if you like good beer and want to eat typical Czech food with it. Prices are very reasonable. English menus available. We are going back again and hope to sample the beer tasters they offer. About 7 or 8 small glasses of different... More

I was here on a beer tasting trip, with a flight of eight beers. Of the eight, seven were superb and I'd rather forget the eight. Sausages with two kinds of kraut was superb, as was the bar cheese (not for the faint of heart, though). If my wife and I had more time we would have gone back here.

After a long day tramping the tourist trail in Prague, we decided that we wanted to try a micro brewery bar, rather than a pub serving the major beers. This place was in the Lonely Planet, and promised much. We arrived and the place was quiet, we were not seated straight away, and when we were in the furthest corner.... More

Returned after 2 years and find that the restaurant has similar quality and atmosphere. Thus, it is consistent, if not excellent. If you need a solid lunch with some exotic beers, this is a good place to go.

Typical still great food if you order the typical. Avoid the Italian items. Of course good choice of beers and spirits. Staff is helpful but runs like crazy!

My second visit, first was over two years ago, would skip but people I meet were raving about there beer selection and sampler. Therefore I returned for dinner as a friend likes the beer soup which was good and arrived almost instantly and before the beer. The beer sampler was interesting, all their own, as other reviewers note it is... More

Had the beer sampling and the banana & coffee beer was good and different. Really enjoyed the roast duck and pork dishes. Also the apple strudel was delish! Come before noon to avoid the crowds. Definitely will be back!

Restaurant was average. The temperature was very warm, probably too warm to be comfortable. The beer was interesting in a good way Nettle beer whilst green tastes pretty good. The food menu is littered with dumplings and wanting something lighter I chose fish which was pretty good and meant I could avoid the dumplings! My dining companions weren't so lucky.... More

Having not been in Prague for a few years we thought we would call into an old staple. Oh dear, this place is not how we remember it at all. The food came within minutes of ordering, suggesting a simple reheating, and, apart from a fish dish, all felt that it was just a fast food repreentation of czech cuisine.... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
