On the beggining we were confuse which restaurant on Warsaw 's old city choose. Finally we choose Barbakan. It was very good decision. Perfect localisation, typical polish food in good prices, elegant atmosphere and sympathetic service. That things made our evening amazing. Definitely recommend Barbacan Restaurant. Greetings for waiters: Monika and Michael. :)

We went there on a cold Sunday evening-night. It was the cheapest one we could find in the area of the old town. For sure we weren't dissapointed, since we payed 89 pln for a traditional zurek served in bread, a chicken soup, pierogi, some really nice meat with mustard sauce served with potato and fresh salad and two beers.... We visited this restaurant upon a recommendation from a local friend. The restaurant is spacious, clean and has a cosy atmosphere about it. The food is authentic polish cuisine that tastes amazing. I had the duck and my partner had a soup and they were both very good quality. This place cost around 100 zloties including top (around £25 GBP)... More

I'm always wary of both the food and the prices in a heavy tourist area. Neither is an issue here. Prices are fair, and the food, although not gourmet feels substantial, hearty, and genuine. My husband grew up in Poland, ordered the galonka, and stated it was worth the additional 30 minute wait. I'd also recommend the herring appetizer. The... More

I have been to this restaurant a few times over the years. It does polish food very well at reasonable prices although it's not quite so good on this occasion. The food seems ok now and a bit unloved. You can sit outside like many of the restaurants in the area. The service was painfully slow however and I felt... More

Walking by we decided to eat here because of the sign with the offer of Steak Entrecôte menu for 45PLN. Checking the menu it was indeed a 200grams steak entrecôte with potatoes and salad. When ordering the waiter heard me and said: ' This is not so good meat' and recommended the 77PLN steak. I told him that it was... More

In a very central location between the Old Town and the equally old New Town, just near the Barbican is this restaurant with traditional interior, especially old furniture, but not overdone. Above the bar is a collection of different kind of bottle openers. There is also some outdoor seating. From the menu card with a good variety of Polish dishes... More

I just love experiencing local foods and cuisines. Here at Barbakan you will find just that. All of the lively waitresses are beautifully dressed in the local costumes. The food is excellent especially the dumplings. Small but very nice.

I am celiac- and while they did not appear very aware of what gluten free meant- (they originally told me that I could have a salad), I ate the roast beef and it was great. The potatoes were amazing. My husband had herring and pork knuckle and loved it.
