Me and a friend were looking to go in when two women waiting outside(not very attractive may I add) were selling the ruse of "being in the city for the first time". They asked if we wanted to grab drinks, this was when I realised what was going on, but I thought I'd entertain knowing I wasn't going to buy... More

We stayed at a hotel very nearby, two couples and just popped in on our way back to our hotel after a days sightseeing for a drink. We were not enticed in by anyone, we just noticed and pub sign and went in. My partner and daughter in law needed the toilet so while they were there my partners son... More

This is the lowest type of trap. Girls will flirt with you on the street near that place and ask you to join them for a drink that will cost you 300 euros. We figured it out pretty quickly and left with paying much less. Stay AWAY and warn everyone you know that goes to Budapest. Worst tourists trap and... More

If you go in and not from Budapest, you will be robbed. A meal and drinks will end up costing you $500 over 150,000fl. It is a scam, do not go. Warn others.

Two girls walks in the street (which is the most popular tourist street in town) fishing for tourists, mainly for a single man. They recommend to have a drink with them. There are no price list, so at the end they force you pay a fortune (ie. 500 EUR) for two glass of wine and a beer. If you do... More

Absolute scam. Stupidly went in out of curiosity, man outside showed us down some windy stairs and shuffled us into a bistro bar. They also charge to use their toilets. The barman asked what we wanted, we asked for 2 local beers. We insisted on paying at the bar, he wanted us to sit down and he would bring the... More

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
