A charming restaurant, situated in a spectacular area, Buda, near Matias Church, with good hungarian and international dishes. Good services, good atmosphere but...20% for services is too much. But...I recommend you to have a dinner there!

Although I have read some good reports in TripAdvisor about this restaurant I must say I was quite disappointed. The food was just average (asparagus were terribly hard) and the service very slow. Not good value for money.

This restaurant was just a short walk away from our Hilton Hotel and highly recommend so we gave it a go. It was so good we actually ate there 2 nights in a row so we could try different things on the menu, something we normally never do on vacation. (The chicken soup is to die for!). It's a small... OK, probably also my fault as I did not book a table. Tried to get there today, May 22nd 2017 for dinner. Restaurant is nice and in a nice location. Waiting for the waiter to come (took him almost 2 minutes to see me) and being asked for reservation. Said I do not have he told me -quite rudely- they... More

Modern Hungarian is how 21 is described. You might be anywhere in the world and be happy with this safe but delicious menu. I had the prawns for entree which were perfectly cooked. And the duck for main. Yes, a very safe pick, but I was very happy. The crime brûlée for dessert was again, predictable, but it was perfect.... More

We had a fantastic meal hear when we were walking around the Castle district. The food was very good quality and decently priced. The service was also very good, and we were recommended a terrific glass of wine. We'll come back!

In Buda, the pretty bit. Hungarian cuisine, delicous Perch, Goulash, and crispy duck , but my companion was sceptical about Hungarian wine, 'a French is all kind of a guy,' unitl our waiter introduced us to the local brew, a light satisfying white Furmint from Mad and a red Del Kopar -duto villany 2013 wonderful complex full bodied riposte to... I enjoyed a delicious menu with starter, maincourse and dessert. Each dish was nicely presented and very tasty. The service was polite, attentive and friendly. I will certainly return next time I visit Budapest and I do recommend it.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
