We came before the live jazz started, so the restaurant was a bit quiet end empty - but that changed later. The food was really good. The best Hungarian paprika chicken!

This was our first stop in Budapest on a recommendation from the hotel (with a free beer). It was a quiet lunch with excellent food - we had the Hungarian Beef Stew which was delicious - and set us up for the afternoon! Imagine it's great for dinner.

We've visited this place because it was close from the hotel. This restaurant is run by a family, and provides a contemporary ambiance, you can simply sit and drink a cocktail or taste the Hungarian dishes served by a professional staff. The cafe offers live music every night. The Ladó is one of the best option in the Jewish quartier

Just up from the Continental Hotel where we were staying, this proved to be a real find; We ate there on two of our three nights in Budapest. The food is superb and the jazz artistes created a good atmosphere . Highly recommended

This place is well established and classic in decor. There is a small stage at the back where swing bands and singers perform. I can see it being particularly nice in the evening with low light and a glass of wine. The hungarian scrambled egg I had for breakfast was tasty and the serving staff were very efficient and attentive.... More

Ate here on recommendation from TripAdvisor. Just a short walk from our hotel. Glad we pre booked as it was very busy even on a Thursday evening in March. Good variety of Hungarian food on the menu. The restaurant also had a very entertaining jazz group playing. Service was good and the food delicious. Recommend.

Description
We prepare the classic meals of the Hungarian cuisine from the early breakfast till the late
dinner.

We recomned the popular goulash soup, the little bit spicy vegetable ragout "Lecso" and the city's
popular "Budapest style beefsteak with goose liver".

Besides the meals, there are live jazz concerts
every evening from 20:00 till 22:00.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
