I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend a few weeks ago when he visited Budapest. In the daily menu there was a hungarian speciality (lángos) which was very delicious. A young lady served the meals with a big smile on her face, and she was very polite and cheerful with us, her name is Petra (Bakonyi). I would definitely... More

We had lunch in the Araz restraunt in February. The food was tasty, very reasonably priced lunch menu and the service in the restaurant was excellent. If I was in the locality again I would revisit.

The service was great, the staff was very frinedly. The food was very good; everything we tried (and we tried a lot) was tasty and different. The wine list was extensive and there were many choices.

I came an hour before close, but they were still willing to seat me and let me order the full Hungarian tasting menu. The appetizer of various meats was so-so, though I want in the mood for charcuterie. I came for the soup and main, and the split pea soup with thin oxtail slices was exactly what I was craving.... This was the restaurant in our hotel. We went there to eat a couple of times. Everything was great; the food was amazing. They offer mainly French and Hungarian cuisine with some other specialities like risotto. The service is great. Very attentive and always smiling. If there was something we less enjoyed it would be the atmosphere. The lights are... More

Pleasant setting, friendly helpful staff and an excellent choice of food. Lots of options on the wine list: we chose a juicy cabernet franc to go with our duck and steak.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
