We went to the larger pop-up branch further down the same road on the opposite side. Three times. Best ice cream I've had for a few years. Once you get past the pretty flower thing the flavours are rather good. The lemon and basil, pineapple...More

The gem of a place in the heart of Budapest , in the St.Stephen's square! The ice cream is mainly fresh fruit based (the all important choclate is also there) and handmade. The chosen flavours are skilfully shaped into a colourful rose in seconds. Absolutely a must...More

Located in a touristy area right by St.Stephen's Basilica, my expectations weren't too high. I thought the price would be very inflated because of the novelty of the gelato and the location - but I was wrong! The price is very reasonable compared to the...More

Thanks to previous reviews I knew to order my gelato-loving wife a cone rather than her preferred dish. I know it was good because I was only allowed one taste.

Nice ice cream shops where their main attraction point is the "rose" shaped ice creams served in cones. Minimum order is 2 scoops. Maximum order (per cone) is 4 scoops. They have a vast range of flavours. But all you need is to identify 2...More

Loved the rose shaped ice cream with 2 flavored selected. Watching them make the cone was entertaining.

They have the best ice cream flavours. I have never tasted anything better. Panacota is my favourite flavour and a must try.

I like my gelato in a cup so I didn’t get the ‘rose’ but a coupe of the other people in my group did. It’s a nice presentation. The gelato itself was ok but not the best I had on the trip.

Just across from the Basilica, I visited here 3 times on a recent trip to Budapest! You pay first at the counter (650 huf for a small with 2 flavours or 750 huf for medium with 3 flavours) and then choose from about 15 flavours...More

I'm sorry I really don't know. Like others I was fascinated by the beautiful design. Perhaps they could put the ice-cream in a tub?

Description
Located in the center of Budapest (Basilica), Gelarto Rosa is THE BEST ice cream in this town! Owner, the charismatic Niki Szokron studied the secrets of old Italian family recipes straight from the source in Italy and brought it back to her city. The philosophy behind it: fresh and true quality ingredients, old Italian traditions, modern technic and as final touch, add artistic creativity. The pretty ice cream girls at Niki's shop "create" each and every portion or cone as a unique artwork using ice cream as art material. It's simply amazing! Don't miss Peti (the barista) great Italian style coffee, and have real French macaroon from Juliette McAron.
