Halfway climbing to the Buda citadel, on Hunyadi road (Which gave the name) we got off the small #16 bus, and went for lunch. Nice location excellent service and very very good Duck breast with cabbage steamed with apple and rosé with potato and onion. A place to return on the next visit.

This restaurant is maybe smaller but makes you fell like at home with highly attentive waiters and great food. We had duck with cabbage and potatoes and honey chicken breast, both meals were great and we can not complain about anything. The mascarpone dessert with mashed strawberry was absolutely excelent and was the finest finish to our lunch experience.

The two of us had 2 courses each with some beer, and including the 15% service charge (which seems to be higher than at other places we've encountered) this came to about 13k HUF. Slightly taken aback by the high compulsory service charge, but the waiter was super smiley and friendly - much more so than at other places we've... More

A nice welcome in this friendly restaurant. Some of the traditional dishes were not to our taste but it was great to sample the cuisine while we were visiting Budapest. Good value for money.

We selected this place to have foie gras, we got it, and it was delicious. Given the high quality of food and service, we were a bit surprised to be alone in the restaurant on Saturday. So, our dinner happened to be very romantic :)

Booked a table for Valentines Day because after reading the reviews thought it would be fully booked. Was very surprised to find we were the only customers but after a very disappointing meal were not surprised. No atmosphere, food barely warm, served on cold plates and totally over salted. Beef Goulash soup average, almost a case of spot the beef,... More

First restaurant visited in Budapest and completely in love with this little gem of a place. The food was superb as was the service and ambience. Well worth the walk up the hill. Nothing like working up an appetite!

This small restaurant is between Buda Castle and the Fisherman Bastion. You should def stop there for a meal when visiting these sights. There is some good hungarian specialties for 12e only we've had a 2 meal course. Great value and super quality food. The goulash soup was soooo good! Everything was really good! Even the house wine. The service... More

All our family sincerely recommend this nice hungarian style dinner restaurant. The menu had real local delicacies from starters to main courses and desserts. The goulash soup was very tasty, the pork prepared in two different styles worth trying and there were lovely sweet alternatives to finish the dinner with. The waitress lady was really nice and told us many... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
