We chose Prime for our one day visit to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. The evening started of a bit on a poor side, when we asked for champagne and the waiter offered prosecco instead.. however from then on, the experience was faultless. Delicious food, especiallly the truffle mash! Great wine list, fantastic staff. Bence looked after us and he... More

I'm new in Tripadvisor. But I have a longer staying in Budapest and I think I will visit a few restaurants this time. So start with this one. In the downtown this is one of the best steakhouse in this city. Large choice of steaks, best quality. The menu is impressive, and the wine list as well. We had asparagus... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant while on the way to another down the street. The one reccomended by our hotel was stuffy and quiet so we went back down the street to the Prime Steak. Great choice! Tons of service, the best prime beef you can get, melted in your mouth. Had wonderful Hungarian wine. No complaints as this was... More

Great steak. The 4x100g fillet options are a great idea! Wine as recommended by the sommelier was also very good. Only gripe is that the menu was a little too expensive. I understand the price for steak but the starters and deserts were also pricey. Also, we were charged for the "complimentary" bread and after dinner drinks (Palinka) were very... More

Great service and great food. Best steak I have ever tasted - the flavours were incredible. We also received complimentary bread, which was also very good quality. Although pricier than a lot of other restaurants in Budapest, the quality you receive would cost a lot more comparatively in many other Western European countries, where currencies are stronger than forint. Therefore,... More

The food was great, but highly overpriced. The taste of the expensive wine the sommelier recommended was mediocre. The waiters were very polite. I found the atmosphere too plastic.

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
