We checked the reviews on TA and decided to give it a try. Very nice interior, stylish with an Italian accent of course. The pasta and the pizza we had were both excellent, very good Valpolicella Ripasso recommended by the waitress. Service was excellent.

We arrived in a Sunday early evening when there was a rush and we received our meals quite quickly. Very tasty, delicious pizza and seabass and oyster.

The food was nice but no wow. Service friendly but attentiveness was sporadic. In the whole time I was there only two other tables were dining. It took three members of staff to clear one table, one to clear, one to wipe and one to re-lay it....this is fantastic teamwork but not when I'm sat with plates waiting to be... More

We had a lovely meal here in early November. The waitress was very helpful and kind. We tried a local wine - actually really good. It's very nice inside - modern and stylish. We had pasta and pizza. Highly recommend!

Probably the best pizza in Budapest. We tried the bufalina, real mozzarella not the one most pizzerias use and the one with prosciutto di Parma which actually was prosciutto di Parma. Baked in a wooden pizza oven which is rare to find...You can also have fish and meat dishes if you prefer which we will try next time. Good wine... More

Before I go to an Italian restaurant I always check the comments made by Italians. I only read great comments in Da Mario's case so I decided to give it a try and did not regret. Very tasty pizza, probably the best in Budapest! Also, very friendly attentive waitresses. Nice ambience and Italian music of course..

Nice atmosphere and great pizza. However the pasta dishes were way to salty, we couldn't even finish them. Rather pricy compared to other places.

The food was as good as we anticipated from the Lonely Planet recommendation, the restaurant was a very pleasant setting. All sadly let down by the awful service. Disappointing!

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
