Alabardos is a fantastic traditional place with an innovative cuisine in an amazing location. The service is more the perfect and the kindness of the Maitre really impressed me.

Dinner was delicious and service was excellent. The "evolution" menu was filled with innovative, but still traditional flavors. I willl never forget this.

This meal was planned to be our best dinning experience of out family trip. Not that often that our family can get together for an extended trip. It was not any less than we expected, great ambiance, excellent staff that was proud to share their city, and food was excellent. Our venison was to die for, deserts were superb and... More

We like it. We have always enjoyed it. The restaurant is located in a ancient (middle ages) house and the inside ambiente is authentic.

We chose the chefs recommendation of a five course meal and it was outstanding. The staff recommended some good Hungarian wine and champagne as a starter. Service is great and the restaurant is small. Really great meal - worth the money.

We were booked into the Hilton Hotel and I wanted to find a restaurant nearby. My tourist guide came up with the Alabardos so I read the reports and it sounded good and so I booked a table for the four of us. I then read a little more about it. Michelin star, fine dining, whoops not the usual food... More

One of the best meals I have had in Budapest. Can easily compete with one of the local Michelin star restaurants I went to. Had the pate as an appetizer and the pork as the main dish. They were both excellent and wish I could have tried more off the menu. The amuse busce that they offered at the beginning... More

Stunning food, great setting, warm welcome and left feeling not only well fed but well looked after. We turned up on spec with no reservation, after a moments thought the manager fitted us (a table of two) into possibly the best seat in the restaurant, he did say that a booking was over half an hour late. Several reviews mention... More

Despite of being a bit isolated from city center, this place was full with guests. Menu is not that big as I could wish but... Everything was at top level: food, servicing. Our team had a great fun here!

Very nice Hungarian restaurant within walking distance of the Hilton, St. George residence, and the Buda Castle Fashion Hotel. Don't look at the menu, order from the "secret menu". It's chef's choice so it's a 5 course meal of surprises. Food was so flavorful and delicious and service was excellent. The view of the Church is pretty great as well... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
