I went there with a friend of mine at 8 pm. My friend reserved a table however there were several empty tables (I suppose during summer it is not the same.) we sat in the garden and it was very calm. Prices are high but not higher than generally in the 1st district. We ordered a cheese selection and two... More

We found this restaurant by chance and it turned out to be the best meal we had on our trip. The food was cooked to perfection, even the sides, the service was truly professional and friendly without being overbearing and the setting is very romantic, such a lovely evening. We will definitely return again when we visit Budapest.

Pavillon de Paris is a steel structure covered with glass walls surrounded by a garden must be beautiful in summer. Unfortunately we – my wife and me – were at the restaurant in winter time so we were not able to enjoy the wiev to the garden. It is situated in one of the busy streets of Buda near the... More

We had invited 4 other people for lunch and the menu was full of wonderful surprises. You have a choice of a la carte or prix fixe of 3 course or 4 course. The six of us took a look at the menu and everyone chose something different. One of our Hungarian guests looked at the wine menu and chose... More

Our 1st night in Buda, and after walking for what seemed like ages we decided to eat at this restaurant tucked away in a backstreet, and wow so glad we did. Had looked at the menu earlier and walked away and then before we knew it were back. The onion soup was very tasty slightly sweet but accompanied by the... More

Perfect little restaurant with set 4 to 6 course meals or order from the menu separately. Food was delicious and cost around $60CAD for two.

We wnet there with my wife to have a 4-course lunch menu offer that sounded gourmet on the internet, but it was not much more than average. It was supposed to be a degustation menu, but didn't really fulfilled its role. Wasn't bad though, only the expectations were higher. This opinion doesn't, of course, reflect the quality of the normal... More

Walking along the street in Buda and I spotted a little patch of greenery through a stone gate... I went in to find a beautiful garden and restaurant... It's operated by Rudolph and his team who are open and passionate about this haven ... Enjoy the plum grappa ... Not too much as it's very strong... and the company too

Well known for its ivy clad ancient walls and huge trees, nestling at the foot of the Buda Castle hill, right in the heart of the city, it is a haven of peace and charm. Its new hungarian chef and new french management team are looking forward to sharing with you their passion for French cuisine, under the expert tutelage of the French chef Marc Meneau ( two stars in the Michelin guide ).

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
