It is a real authentic Japanese experience. The interior is very Japanese and the menu also. Very far from a sushi place. I had tune with rice and miso soup, seaweed salat and pork bbq. All were special and delicious. The owner serves and he was nice to everyone. He is far from overdoing restaurant-type hospitality. He does not do... More

I was there with my boyfriend for dinner. The place is very hidden, I've never seen it before, although I was born and raised in Budapest. We walked through the asian signed door and inside no one has greeted us. We got down to the basement where the owner waved and said we can sit down. After that the horrible... More

Good food but a little expensive, not busy but can now understand why. The owner is rude, un-friendly & does not understand good customer service. Shame really because everything else was ok.

This little restaurant is always mentioned as one of the best Japanese restaurants in Budapest. It is not located in a fancy neighbourhood so it requires some courage to enter. You should go downstairs. At the time of our visit it was full of smoke, even the owner was smoking and reading a newspaper. Starting from April smoking is forbidden... More

In a nondescript area, in a nondescript building and with non descript decor. Yet just about fantastic! Pure Japanese cuisine, but, very cleverly, with local ingredients: mangalica sukiyaki! Delicious and perfect. Soba soup was as good as it gets. Prices, for the quality, were more than reasonable, and the service helpful and very friendly. True hidden gem!

If you want to feel yourself in Japan go to this small restaurant, which is not beautiful or fancy just simple, small and not ostentatious at all! All the food we had here was just perfect, fresh, real japanese and perfectly made! I can`t remember if I ever had such a perfect pork dish in my life before. Can`t say... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
