Beside the great food and special dishes, the service was above and beyond what we excepted.
Roborto the manager of the resturant is a so kindly and lovely man!
I also recommend the goose liver dish!
I would go back to Budapest, if just to eat at this restaurant again. Seriously, it’s that good. We read the reviews and we were skeptical. We decided to stop by on a Monday afternoon to make a dinner reservation, but they were closed. Came...back on Tuesday and they were able to get a lunch reservation for the next day. This is a TINY place (10 tables maybe) that is family owned and operated. They could not have been more warm and welcoming or accommodating to my dietary needs. After ordering a bottle of red from their small, but diverse and well-priced wine list, we were presented with an amuse bouche of tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto and thinly-sliced chicken liver, served with warm, fresh bread. Next, our appetizer of beef carpaccio arrived. I took the serving fork to the plate, but the carpaccio was so thinly sliced and so fresh that it just melted onto itself. So, we scraped it from the plate with spoons. It was paired beautifully with the freshly shaved Parmesan and peppery arugula. We devoured everything on the plate. After giving us some time to digest our food, they started working on our entrees. My husband had the shrimp with pasta and I had the classic carbonara. First, the pasta. It is fresh, homemade, cooked perfectly and served piping hot. The carbonara was rich, creamy, smoky, savory and really the ultimate bowl of comfort and decadence all in one. My husband’s dish was packed with large, plump, perfectly-cooked shrimp and a creamy, slightly spicy sauce with hints of garlic and red pepper. We are not big eaters, but we love food. We ate absolutely everything! Since we were so full, we declined dessert. But, our meal wasn’t over…Like other diners, we were served a complimentary serving of sorbet and dark chocolate, along with small glasses of Tokaji Aszu (delicious Hungarian dessert wine). What a perfect ending to our meal. Or was it? Once we finished our Tokaji, they poured us each a glass of their house-made limoncello. While still sitting at our table, we made lunch reservations for two days later (they were completely booked for dinner). Is this the best Italian food we’ve ever eaten? If not, it’s pretty darn close and I don’t remember the last time I ate something this good. Oh yeah, that was two days later when I got the shrimp and my husband got the pasta prepared three different ways. This time, we got refills on the Tokaji. If you’re in Budapest, do yourself a favor and seek out this tiny spot of joy. By the way, they are originally from Italy and switch easily between Italian, Hungarian, German and English. We also heard them greeting guests in Japanese and Hebrew. I guess we’re not the only ones to rave about their restaurant!More
When our family visited the restaurant , the staff immediately called my name and greeted us . We were surprised and happy at the same time. As rumored, the foie gras was very delicious. They provided appetizers and desserts as a service. We appreciate the...dishes and hospitality.
Visited for my boyfriends birthday on our last day in Budapest. Truly saved the best til last! Couldn’t fault this beautiful restaurant in any way. Food was unreal with such a friendly and warm atmosphere. Roberto and the rest of the staff went the extra...mile to truly make this meal special! Best restaurant we’ve ever visited. Thanks so muchMore

All were good- very large portions. We also got an...aperitif and a desert on the house. All of the staff is super nice and willing to assist - it’s a must.More
A great place to take your friends for a meal. Excellent service, very friendly atmosphere and food delicious. Portions are very generous and everything is very clean, which I consider very important. If you are in an area, stop for a meal, you'll enjoy it...for sure.More
If you are in the area, go there for a lunch and make arrangements directly with the staff - you won't regret it :)
Else, by mail like suggested or give them a call. Their English is excellent.
