Popped in on a Tuesday night for the Open Jam. Beer was good and cheap. Atmosphere was intimate and friendly. Refreshingly, the crowd was mostly young locals. The best thing had to be the music that night when any musician could come up on stage to perform and improvise with other musicians. No one on stage were trying to out... More

Had a few beers here. The atmosphere was really good. No nonsense. The people here are a bit alternative. There is a lot of live music which can be of any kind. I think it's kind of a big Hungarian secret because I didn't see a lot of tourists. Enjoy!

Lámpás is a nice place with live acts in the middle of the uncountable pubs/bars of the 7th district (the party-district of Budapest). It's a nice place set underground consisting of a couple of interconnected spaces, simple design, but vivid, lively atmosphere. Live performances spice up your drinking-night at Lámpás.

After a night of heavy drinking and cold weather I ventured into Lampas! I've been there before but kind was off my radar! Very chill and kind and friendly service a truly great experience. My friend had forgotten her belongings and thanks from a little help from Spinoza....We were able to retrieve her jacket and purse completely intact...Thanks so much... More

i've always love this place and it never disappoints me. Go here if you like jazzy, funky rhythms, live music in general, and an authentic look "under ground". Keep going, Lámpás. :)

We walked past this place a few times but always felt a bit cautious whether to enter or not. Then we took the plunge and thank goodness we did! There was no door fee, and the atmosphere is cosy and intimate. Mostly full of Hungarian locals, it was lovely to experience something not swarmed by tourists! Drinks are incredibly incredibly... Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
