We needed somewhere to have breakfast before our trip down to Christchurch. This looked good from the outside and I'm so glad we tried it. The breakfast was great as was the coffee, service etc. I would certainly come back.

We just had two large cappuccinos and although drinkable, they tasted like sachet mix. We don’t have sugar but they were sweet. Not strong tasting. We wouldn’t come here again.More
Hi Kiwiczech. Did you bring this up with the staff? It sounds like you may have been given the wrong coffees. We’re they takeaway or dine in? We don’t sugar our dine in coffees but we will put sugar in takeaways on request. All of...More
We went to lunch at Cortado. The staff were very offhand and the paninis we ordered were not the most palatable. A little more customer focus would be good
Thanks for drawing our attention to your concerns, it would be great to discuss this in person, please do not hesitate to contact me direct. Kind regards, Jo
We had just finished the Queen Charlotte Track and had arrived back in Picton on a beautiful warm sunny afternoon. A chilled beer for one of us and an ice cream sundae and two spoons for the other seemed an excellent plan. Happy to recommend...More
Glad you enjoyed the sundae, I bet that and the beer went down well after completing the Queen Charlotte Track!
OK. So we arrived after 8 pm when most other restaurants in Picton are closing. This one was open. Great location in town on the sea front. Attentive service, friendly and helpful. But noisy with loud music and a TV thrown in showing sport. (Not...More
Thanks for taking the time to review. We hope you get to try us again, perhaps when there is no entertainment on, for a more intimate meal.
Located in a fabulous location in the picturesque town of Picton the Cortado is popular with locals and tourists alike. Choose an outdoor table if you can. The view across the road centres on a fabulous waterfront with lots of yachts, boats and cruisers of...More
Thanks for taking the time to review, we love our location and we agree, outside on a nice day is just magic!
Ate here once during our stay in Picton and tried to eat again but we didn’t book and they were just too busy. The restaurant is in a great location with a bustling friendly atmosphere. Everything we ordered was delicious and the menu features tapas...More
We are glad you got to eat with us the once during your stay, a shame we so busy for visit number too. Hope you get to visit Picton again one day.
As a local I've always liked Cortado - it used be very good but service and standards are slipping fast. My last 3 experiences have been so bad I've walked out and eaten elsewhere, twice. The staff simply don't care about customers. The first experience...More
We are very disappointed to hear about your unimpressive experiences. Please give me a call so we can discuss this in person. Kind regards, Jo
We were a group of 7 who had lunch at the outside tables. We mostly ordered the Fish and Chips, although one ordered the Squid and one order the soup. All were delicious and were of generous helpings.
Stopped by this cafe/bar and saw cocktail of the week "espresso martini" advertised which instantly interested me!! UNTIL.... they brought out the smallest of cocktails Ive seen in quite some time - presentation was excellent but when I had my first sip I realised this...More
