Davimart seems to major on largish groups but as a couple we were seated next to the sweltering grill where we experienced sluggish service (asking for water 3 times before it arrived and our seafood trio was overcooked.

This family run restaurant won't disappoint. Their specialty is a grilled seafood dish (shrimp, snapper and lobster). My wife tried the lobster only and raved about it. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. The tables are outside but under cover surrounded by plenty of greenery.

The food was fresh but nothing exciting. The fish and lobster were a bit tough. The meal included the usual salad of cabbage, cucumber and tomato. The service was good and the staff was pleasant. The wine was not very interesting, nor was the dessert.

From the outside one has no idea what is behind the nondescript wall, but inside and around the back is a lovely outdoor restaurant where the owner, David, grills in full view. The lovely dishes made me hope that I could find them in Havana, but I should have asked where they were from because they were cute and whimsical.... More

The Paladar is in a nice outdoor environment. The food was not at all up to the standard. The Fish I had was over cooked and inedible. When will these Paladars, just let someone order off the menu and not confuse 14 travelers in a group with unsophisticated foodies. We all enjoy and appreciate good food- and this was not found... We accidentally found out about the restaurant. Cannot tell what it is from the street. We were surprised by the high quality of the service, and by the excellent quality of the food. Presentation of the plates was great. We tried the langosta... delicious...

The place was charming with light breezes on the patio, a friendly waitstaff -- but the star of the evening -- one marked by fine music, good drinks, great fun -- was the fresh caught lobster cooked perfectly. I would go back in a heartbeat. And it was at Davimart that we had our first, and maybe only, really good... More

Lunch with Road Scholar - delicious lamb, others had very tasty meals. Perfect service. Interesting china, with some little pieces available for purchase. Definitely would return

Strangely the much touted Davimart in Trinidad, Cuba, is no longer a restaurant but merely a weekend bar. Asked why it has shifted operations, former Chef David Aguiar would only smile without offering a comment. It might have something to do with the fact that no one knew it existed, had heard about it or didn’t know where it was.... More

Our Road Scholar tour saved the best for last! This dinner on our last night was elegant and delicious with excellent service. While not typically Cuban, my lobster and fish combo was perfectly cooked and a treat for the eyes as well as the palate. The setting is beautiful, and the decor is inventive and interesting. Away from the town... More
