We were out for a walk and after a few hours needed a break. We dropped in here thinking it was a coffee shop not realizing it was a restaurant. The staff / owner couldn't have been nicer. We were given a seat at the bar for coffee then we selected a cake...all very nice. So nice we decided to... More

What a lucky neighborhood to have this newly remolded French comfort food restaurant nestled in it. The onion soup and provincial stew were outstanding as was my wife's plate of mussels, the house specialty. Inexpensive. Great wait staff. Vibrant personality. No wonder the place was jammed packed.

Authentic, tasty typical Belgian food right down the mayo with the fries We had 3 salads, 1 French onion soup and 4 mains - 2 meat and 2 fish. All were strong. The Caesar was spicy and not overly creamy, how I like it. Even had white anchovies and a crisp on top. Loved it. I had steak frites. Very... More

Don't visit Et Voila if you want to have a conversation with someone. The food is good, we had mussels and carbonate flamande (Belgian beef stew) and servings were ample, over 2 dozen mussels. However, the Caesar salad for $10 seemed small. The tables are so close together that you have to shout to be heard if you happen to... More

My family, friends, and I have been dining here for many years every time we visit Washington and it is always a most enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is friendly––lively, but not at all too loud––the service is efficient and genial but never intrusive, and the food is superb bistro cuisine. I especially love the Carbonade and the Ile Flottant, but... More

Discovered this restaurant through Open Table. Belgian / French restaurant. We went last Sunday and did not choose the brunch menu but we chose from the regular menu. We shared, for 3 people, oeuf Meurette, moules mariniere et gaot cheese salad. All tree were far superior to anything we tasted in DC. Then, for dessert, we shared Mousse au chocolat... More

From the moment we first went to Et Voila, now years ago, until the present, it has been our favorite DC restaurant. Exceptionally delicious food, wonderful cheerful service, and delightful atmosphere. Last night we went for our anniversary. The trout was nothing like trout that I have eaten elsewhere. Somehow it was rolled around mushrooms and leeks (?) and with... More

Very authentic French bistro, very tight and cozy. A veritable hole in the wall. Reasonably diverse menu full of French classics - moules, hanger steak, frites, duck confit, sole, beef stew, plats du jour, fromage, etc. great wines. Prices are reasonable for D.C. area. Reservations a must, and don't plan on bringing the kiddies or extended family, this place is... More

We enjoyed an early NYE dinner with friends at this lively and consistently high quality bistro. Menu was intriguing and appealing. Service is friendly, brisk and efficient, always offering good recommendations. We will definitely return.

This has been a favorite eatery for frequent brunches and occasional dinners. Began the most recent brunch with onion soup, deeply flavored broth with nicely browned gruyere crust, and the heirloom beet salad accented with blue cheese. Buckwheat crepe with moist salmon, topped with a soft, fried egg was delicious. Eggs benedict were perfectly poached with a well-made Hollandaise. The... More
