Disappointing place to eat burgers. Not great tasty burgers but good fries. Avoid the location for quick eats

It's all eggs, omelettes and similar food, and all done with simplicity but style. Don't expect to be wowed and you'll be happy. Probably some of the lowest breakfast prices in the city!

No one will consider this place having any ambiance, but the prices were better than any others around Capital Hill. They cooked you hamburger on the spot and you could get a decent soda around $1.50. When you don't feel like dropping $12.00 for a hamburger and an overpriced drink, this place was appreciated for a quick, simple meal. Compare... More

I arrived late and needed to find a place for a bite ti eat after 9. the bilky goat was about a block away and open to 11. It gave new meaning to the term no frills but I went in anyway. I had the best double burger, great meat and bun, that I can ever remember in DC. Under... More

Had breakfast since it was very close to our hotel. Breakfast is made by very nice Mexican ladies. Food was good no complaints. They offer omelets french toast and various egg meals. Also cheeseburgers and other dinner items. We did return later in the day for drinks. The bartender is great will make anything you ask for. And they support... More

Billy Goat Tavern is a burger joint! A nice place to go for a quick bite to eat when you don't want to spend a fortune. Cafeteria style service. Friendly staff. Full bar available as well. Food is decent, burgers, fries, etc. Also offers inexpensive breakfast menu - eggs, French toast, egg sandwiches, coffee... We were very happy we "found"... More

Not certain what is keeping this place financially solvent. It must be a special place for police and firemen--lots of patches from all over decorate the place. Beer selection is poor. They do serve liquor. Also, open for breakfast but the ambiance is too depressing for me to want to start my day there.

Came to the Billy Goat to meet my cousin to watch a little bit of the Bears game. Had a couple of drinks which there selection is about normal and a cheeseburger and fries. While not spectacular it was fun to come here and watch a little football while in town.

I didn't find anything special about the famous cheeseburgers and the place itself was sterile and uncharming.

While most reviews are for lunch or drinks, the Billy Goat Tavern has an inexpensive and tasty breakfast. Given that some hotels, like ours, had a really expensive breakfast buffet, this is a reasonable, nicely done alternative with lots of the usual breakfast options. The place is plain with no airs, but just fine fto start the day.
