I was in Carmine's on a Saturday during one of the biggest protest marches in DC for many years. My wife and I ducked in and were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar as someone was leaving. The place was completely packed, standing room only, with marchers trying to get warm, having a drink, using the bathroom... More

The food was great here and I would definitely recommend it. The service we received for the children's meals was quick and efficient. To get the adult meals though took much longer and more than I have had at other comparable restaurants. We also enjoyed the fact there was a reasonably priced valet service for restaurant patrons as it was... More

Great atmosphere and wide variety of drinks. Loved the frozen cosmo. Didn't have a meal but enjoyed the appetizers.

The maitre D lady no smile, no greeting, couldn't be bothered, Kiat said go ahead and sit anywhere. We sat at high tablles the near bar area, that's where they serve the "lunch" portions which are really just half portions served anytime (yes very confusing and they didn't do a good job explaining). I had to go up to the... More

I have to say that, while falling just short of the traditional mom & pop italian joint, Carmine's has a family-style menu to be reckoned with. I'd recommend starving yourself the day prior to coming and once you're there be sure to have help on hand to lick the plates clean.

We had a party of 12. Salads were perfect. Just the right amount of dressing our group finished 2 of them. Then we had entrees including, chicken piccata, rigatoni with sausage and broccoli, steak, and finished with the Tugboat (a smaller version of the titanic). Excellent service too!

we were a party of 6 seated at a table for 4. one of our party had to wait 10 minutes for a dish.the pasta bolognese was good, but believe it or not there was an unusually small amount of pasta for Carmines.I have a good frame of reference, since i've been to 6 different Carmines locations.obviously a tourist catered... Hostesses were so kind and super friendly. Our waiter, not so much. Barely spoke to us and I honestly felt as if we were bothering him. Food was good, lots of it. 1 dish was too much for 2 people. But a nice atmosphere and cozy environment.

First off great service from Sean our server. Food was great, he walked us through the menu, don't let the prices scare you, each plate will serve at least 2 people. The cheesey garlic bread was to die for, i think we got 9 slices for around 15 buck. Dinner for 4 with some wine and drinks ran us around... More

Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. The Carmine's concept is to bring its guests a "wow-factor" sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of homestyle antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing amongst friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's.
