Had a good dinner (the Shepard's pie is amazing) and the staff was very friendly. The bar makes a great manhattan or old fashioned. Prices could be better, but based on the location in DC, I understand.

We were lucky enough to get an early last minute reservation for Thanksgiving dinner at this restaurant. Service was great and the food was really good.

We had an order of sliders, a burger and 2 glasses of wine. For the price we paid the burgers were meh and tasted like they had been cooked earlier the day and then warmed up for us. The shoestring fries were flabby. The mayonnaise was very, very good. Service was average

There is a reason to go to PJ Clarke's on 3rd avenue. Busy bar, good everyday type food, service is fine. But, DC just doesn't get that. No crowds, food is average to bad and service is well below average. I just never want to go there, I don't even like ordering it for delivery cause that is never good... More

Upon entering did not have high hopes, with an ambiance of Applebee's or Cheesecake Factory. Noisy and very casual atmosphere. But was delightfully surprised to enjoy one of the best burgers I have ever had. The mussels however were not good.

We were looking for a restaurant close by to our hotel as we were only in Washington for one night. We walked past here on the way to the White House at lunchtime and decided to make a reservation for that evening (Friday) for dinner! Thankfully we did as we turned up at 7.30 and they were so busy! We... More

Tried to have a light dinner, but too many tasty options! A very tasty butternut squash soup followed by fish tacos and the whisky bread pudding for dessert. The service was superb and oldies from the 70s played all during dinner.

First night visited here feeling tired after travelling for almost 24 hours. Staff and food could not have been better - just what we all wanted

K Street, the road to the White House, is also the proud home to P.J. Clarke’s—the storied American Saloon with a history that dates back to the late 1800s. The original P.J. Clarke’s in Manhattan has stood beneath rows of skyscrapers for nearly 130 years, collecting famous and infamous regulars. Appreciated for the convivial ambiance and classic fare, P.J. Clarke’s is the quintessential American Saloon.
In our nation’s capitol, the story continues as oak and mosaic floors, red leather banquets and walls lined with eccentric portraits and nostalgic photos contribute to a reassuring familiarity that is classic P.J.s, but also construe a distinct Washington sensibility. Seasoned bartenders make favorite classic cocktails the right way; dexterous shuckers ply the freshest shellfish at a marble topped Raw Bar; and the old-school, convivial dining room welcomes government A-listers, students and their families and visitors to our capitol.
