This is a neighborhood gem. Unlike some the experience of some of the commentators, we have always been lucky and found the service friendly and fast and the loudness of the music perfect for conversation. I had lentil soup and beet salad and my wife had the crab salad. All portions were well portioned and nicely displayed and tasty (though... More

For the most part the food is acceptable, but not really that good. Prices are significantly too high for portion size and quality, and the service is just plain inattentive and indifferent. A mushroom tart uses food-service puff pastry, an undistinguished brown sauce, and a big mound of arugula fisted straight out of the plastic clamshell container. An endive, walnut... More

We had mussels, chicken, mushroom risotto and salad, all were good, very well prepared and wonderful wait staff. The wine was well priced. The atmosphere was very good for conversation. Easy to get in.

Decent food, terrible service. VERY slow, nasty, rude wait staff. Way too loud and the music made it worse. No one on the wait staff seems to be responsible for a table. Had at least 3 different people come to the table but seemed to "forget" or not respond to requests. When asked the senior staff for a third time,... More

Had heard people describe Terasol Gallery Café as a neighborhood gem. And it turned out to be a delicious retreat. At lunch I had a salmon filet, nicely sautéed, and served on a bed of spinach with a sweet potato mousse. Really well done. The café had a gallery of local artists and displayed paintings, pottery and sculpture. A nice... More

This is one of these neighborhood restaurants that you might never try unless you live nearby. Although this one does have the advantage of being right across the street from the famous bookstore Politics and Prose. We decided to go there for Sunday brunch simply because we haven't tried it before. Got there around 11:30 am and it was pretty... More

We had not been to Terasol in a good while and were looking forward to walking over for a quiet meal and glass of wine. We decided to eat inside given the rush hour traffic on Connecticut. We were were give some very good warm bread and thought we were off to a good start. The gazpacho was great -... More

Washington seems to cultivate these small restaurants. This one is not a big standout - about the best you can say about it is that it is across from a really good bookstore, Politics and Prose, and if you need a bite to eat after a couple hours looking at books, it is convenient. The decor - guess they are... More

Each time we visit this restaurant the food quality is lower. We took family for a dinner on a Sat. night and three of us ordered the steak frit: the meat is listed as Hangar, but it certainly was not. It was tough and tasted like something other than steak. The manager kindly removed the plates and did not charge... More

Though Connecticut Ave is pretty busy around 1630 on a weekday, you still find some comfort in sitting outside on the small terrace of Terabol. The owner puts aside his paper and coffee to bring out the wine list and inform you the kitchen opens at 1700 leaving plenty of time to enjoy a pre-dinner drink and check the inside... More
