In the back of a gas station may keep some people away... and I don't mind that because I have never waited more than 10 minutes for my freshly made cubano and fries.

Went in for gas...came out with a truly gourmet sandwich. I had roast turkey, fresh from the oven with bacon and avacado on what was certainly a fresh baked bun. Really spectacular flavors and texture. Accompanied by crispy french fry straws that were restaurant quality. GHIS Place Is Open Til 5:30 Am On Weekends OR TGE After Bar hoards. I... More

Came here on a food tour - one of the reasons I go on these tours is because I visit places I wouldn't ordinarily consider. If I had more time in Washington I would come back here. The menu contains an interesting range of food from many nations. The items we sampled were very tasty. When we came here it... More

We visited here on Carpe DC food tour and enjoyed it so much we re-visited the next day!! Set in a gas station we never would have stopped here but so glad we found it! We tried the empanadas - corn and beef and the spinach pie - all were great! Only one downside - we obviously looked like tourists... More

Rather than run into a convenience store to grab a nasty hot dog and bag of chips, why not order Fast Gourmet's fish tacos or meatloaf sandwich? There is dining space, but no wait staff or alcohol. Often the TV is blaring with FIFA soccer in a different language, but you can always get your food to go. I wish... More

Living in Florida it is very hard to find Uruguayan/argentinian food unless you are in Miami.I came to DC to visit family and my brother took me here to try. We felt so many memories eating our chivito and milanesa sandwiches. I was looking forward to eating some alfajores but they ran out. I cant wait to eat here again... More

It's a perfect example of why you should never say never. I never thought I would find myself sitting at a gas station and fueling up on some amazing food. It was a quick stop late in the night, and I really wasn't that hungry but I nearly devoured my huge milanesa and the eggplant fries. Say what? eggplant fries.... More

Great little place - had the chivito sandwich (steak, ham, bacon, mozzarella, egg...!!) - how can you go wrong? The menu is much broader than that and all that I saw looked good.

In town nearby on business and found this place on tripadvisor. Got the chivita sandwich with fries, it was ample and delicious. Ham, egg, bacon, mozzarella, tomato, lettuce, pork tenderloin on a hoagie roll. Worth the visit.

In million years, I never would have guessed that some of the best food I'd find in all of DC would be at a gas station. But that's what happened. The food is phenomenal. It is a great value. The staff keeps the place clean. The staff is very friendly. Can't really say anything else that hasn't already been said... More
