The food was great (ask for less salt if you don't like things too salty) and lovely warm atmosphere at this friendly local, possibly the best restaurant in this strip of Connecticut avenue. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

A lunch experience at District Kitchen was a lot more rewarding than dinner. At the latter, service was slow, mac & cheese pallid and tasteless, and no food really stood out as good or bad.

I ate here recently at the end of a business trip in the area. I almost didn't go after reading what seemed to be mixed reviews but am glad I did. The staff was good and didn't rush. I particularly liked the ability to have half-portions of some of the main dishes and chose a very tasty risotto. This also... More

Busy restaurant on a Sunday night. Not a lot of tables. Everybody liked their food. My grandson really liked the New York steak. My son-in-law thought the chicken was excellent. My fish was good. My wife and younger daughter thought the soup was very good. My older daughter liked her Tuna Pole. Only 6 draft beers, but an excellent selection.... More

We had a large group dinner at this restaurant. The first thing I noticed was a pungent sewer smell when we entered. That's tough to overcome for dinner. Once our dinners arrived dishes for half in our group were cold, and had to be sent back. Ultimately we all had hot, good food but it took awhile to remedy. They... More

We took friends visiting from out of town and their grandson for brunch. The service was attentive and the food was excellent. We each had something different with one child having tasty chicken fingers. One of us had the shrimp and jalapeño-cheddar polenta, two had omelets and I had the Ranche-Quiles. It was one of the best scrambled egg dishes... More

Went for lunch and it was as wonderful as it was 2 years ago for dinner. The halibut was slightly overcooked, but not enough to send it back. My co-worker had a great caprese salad and the balsamic was perfection. Can get a little loud, but the staff is very attentive and the prices are reasonable. Love, love, love the... More

So my husband and I had a really crappy start to our weekend, and we wanted to go into the city to someplace new for dinner to cheer ourselves up. I stumbled across a listing for District Kitchen online after a search for "the best restaurants in DC" or something, and figured we should give it a shot. We are... More

Two great brunches in a row. Great service and food. Loved the fries and Brussels sprouts, omelet and hash. I'll be back.

I'd been here last year on a business trip and had a great dinner, so I thought I'd try it again. I'm glad I did! The $35 pre fix menu is hard to beat for quality and value in DC. I started with the tuna poke, with seaweed salad and Sriracha aoili was amongst the best tuna dishes I've ever... More
