Great shrimp cocktail as a starter. Loved the crab cakes & got the combo with scallops & grilled shrimp. Great potato that has crabmeat stuffed inside- so good! A great place to do business & easy with Open Table reservations.

We enjoyed another great meal at Legal Seafood. The service was attentive, but at our pace. The food was cooked perfectly. The wine and drink selection was ample. The clam chowder (my favorite) was excellent as usual. When in this part of DC, recommend having...More

Had lunch with friends here on the Saturday before July 4th, on a ridiculously hot 90+ degree day. Amazing summer cocktails (strawberry sangria & watermelon martini) and consistently good food. Used to eat at Legal regularly when living in Boston, and hadn’t been to one...More

Legal seafood never disappoints. It doesn’t try to be everything to everyone, it is consistent and excellent seafood. I highly recommend it.

Crab soup was excellent and my salmon Caesar salad was good, except for the salmon which was undercooked and a very poor piece of fish that was tough to the point that I ate the salad and not the fish. Waiter asked me for a...More

Description
The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. A bipartisan favorite, we have occupied the nation’s capital since 1995, anchored across from the Verizon Center and around the corner from the International Spy Museum, National Portrait Gallery and Chinatown. Make waves at our racetrack-shaped bar or sup on seafood underneath the hull-like ceiling in our restaurant’s main dining room. Either way, be presidential and order a cup of our New England Clam Chowder; it’s been served at every Inauguration since 1981. Other accolades include “Best Place for Great Seafood” (Washingtonian Magazine, 2008) and “Best Crab Cakes” (Washingtonian Magazine, 2008)
