I met two friends at Al Dente for drinks and dinner recently. I have not been here before but live close by. Good location with indoor and outdoor seating. There is street parking for two hours and a pay parking lot next door. Beers were...More

Chef Roberto did not disappoint. We came after a show at the Kennedy Center so it was very quiet. The menu was impressive but the family style intrigued us. After a brief explanation from our server we were all in. If you are adventurous, have...More

Arriving after an early night at the theater, we were hungry. Our group agreed we would try the family style tasting menu, at $45/person. That meant the chef would choose our dinner -- three appetizers, three pastas, and three entrees, with three desserts. A great...More

First off, we were here early at about 545 on a Monday night. Not crowded at all. But then we try to avoid the prime time. Good selection of wines and across all price points. After a nice bottle of wine we tried the meatball...More

The service was inattentive and slow. Our friends said it was like this the last time they went too. The food was good and tasty. Nice choices on the menu. However, the presentation was "interesting." I ordered a beet salad with romaine lettuce. It came...More

Looks modest from the outside, and there are no white tablecloths, but the menu is extremely diverse, the wine list is vast, and the attitude and service of the staff is excellent. I will remember this one.

Stayed down the street from this restaurant while visiting my son. Being a Chef myself and owning several restaurants (4) I was disappointed at the quality of the food I was served. The pasta; that was definitely fresh made was horribly undercooked. Just as it...More

Went here with some friends and loved everything about it. We ordered six appetizers and six mains. All 12 were excellent. My favorites were the seafood pasta, the octopus (appetizer) and the liver. The restaurant is laid back, the service is great and the food...More

Casual to business casual is fine. This is a family neighborhood restaurant, although we never mind being the excuse for you to be able to dress up :)
