Went for lunch on a weekday. This is a nice little gem tucked away right off of Dupont Circle. I really enjoyed the sushi, Had tuna sushi and some miso soup.

I heard all the Japanese embassy people frequented here at lunch so it must be good. The sushi/sashimi is fresh the service is good too. We had a good meal.

Liked that it's a no frills local place that has very good sushi. Would recommend everything I tasted, it is a very simple place and it was pretty busy. Clearly they emphasize good food and I enjoyed the plain surroundings and no wine menu.

Just popped in for a quick meal before heading to airport and was pleasantly surprised. The sushi and sashimi was very high quality - good texture and fresh. Nigiri rice was also the right firmness and not overcooked. You don't find sushi so expertly prepared very often outside of Japan and then only at much higher prices. The restaurant is... More

We ordered the sushi and a hot meal that we upgraded with soup and dessert. For this block in DC, this is reasonable pricing. The food was pretty good. The plum wine was a lighter color than we get elsewhere and for under $6.00 a glass was a deal. If you are staying in the area, definitely try this place.... More

I search for good sakana, when I travel. I like it fresh and well (skillful, artful, clean, tasty) prepared) whether is sushi, sashimi, rolls or nigiri sushi. When I go to a place that seems trustworthy and with good ratings, I really enjoy putting the whole gastronomic experience in the hands of the chef. I don't even look at the... More

Although it doesn't look like much from the outside it is well worth popping in for some sushi. They don't have a huge range but what they do have is always excellent. Fresh and served at the right temperature (not too cold). The warm sake is always a welcome addition to any meal and the service is efficient if not... More

The sushi here is very good. Very reasonably priced rolls, fast service, cozy atmosphere. I ordered an eel avocado roll, a bagel roll, and salmon nigiri. While the nigiri is a little overpriced, the rolls are very neat, evenly cut, nice presentation. 6 pieces per roll. Quite filling. The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars is because the... This is a Japanese restaurant typical of those outside Japan - it has all types of food such as tempura, sushi and ramen. I walked in on a Wednesday night without reservation and was seated at the counter where I had a chance to see the chefs at work making sushi. I ordered the sushi set. The service was fast... More
