We visited the restaurant with a group of 15. First of all they would not let us order off the regular menu. They said this was because our group was too large. Bizarre! After much confusion and complaining, the manager finally brought us the normal...More

We came here for a nice lunch given its proximity to Congress. Its lovely inside, not a typical dark wood colors steakhouse, but with lots of natural light and a diverse menu of choices including lots of salads, chicken, and seafood in addition to the...More

We had a dinner reservation on our first night in DC and we're immediately seated to a table inside. The server was very friendly and quick to point out recommendations. Both steaks we got were delicious and cooked to specification. They definitely live up to...More

The quality of the food was more than decent, the location lovely (slightly challenging for parking on busy nights) and the atmosphere very good. It was a perfect close friends' night out.

I was staying in the nearby Phoenix Park Hotel and went into this restaurant one evening to try to get a table but, after 5 minutes of being pointedly ignored by the Maitre d' and his Assistant, I walked out. I then made a reservation...More

The food is delicious. I did try a lobster bisque that was more like an acorn squash soup, which is not a favorite so I did not eat it. The service is great and the rest of my meal very good, salad with steak. We...More

This is an expensive but very good steakhouse. In winter (when there are no leaves on the trees) you can see the Capitol. You also always stands a change to see Congress people dining there. The food is excellent, as are the drinks, but this...More

Description
Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters building, is dedicated to another fine master craft: bold American food. Under the direction of Executive Chef Mike Ellis, the menu not only stars the best American artisan beef cuts like an aged Angus Rib-eye "Cowboy" Steak but updated locally sourced seafood dishes, like Chesapeake Bay Oysters and Soft Shell Crab Fritto Misto.

Much more than a steakhouse, the timelessly stylish restaurant moves the political power meetings out of the back room and into private dining spaces, sleek enclaves of dark wood. Located off the wide, open expanse of the National Mall, Charlie Palmer’s Steak’s rooftop terrace can accommodate 400 guests, offering the city’s most impressive view of the Capitol.
