I visited this location twice recently, once for dessert after an unsatisfactory visit elsewhere, and the second time to try their kebabs (which they spell "Kabob"). Their Chocolate Coconut Cake, which is gluten-free and has rum caramel, was pretty good, but would have been even better served with the Gelato I got on the second visit. It's very thick, so... I got the Golden Monkey black tea and my boyfriend did the Teaism Chai. The Golden Monkey I had was ok, not bad, just not as flavorful as I was expecting. The Chai is brewed with milk and honey. It was a true chai with a heavy spice. They cannot sub a non-dairy milk for the chai which was disappointing.... More

A place dealing in tea should know better. When I pointed out that I ordered Assam tea not Keemun tea to the person delivering the tea, first they said they were told to make Keemun (as if I did order it), then they said they were out of Assam, so they substituted Keemun. OK, how difficult would it have been... More

I was dying for a good cup of green tea and this little Japanese tearoom was just perfect. I had a pot of jasmine green tea and a bowl of oatmeal chock full of nuts and dried fruit, just perfect for a cold morning.

Wow! Wish we had discovered this sooner! The teas are fantastic. The food was great. Ginger in scrambled eggs- who knew how great it tastes??!! The atmosphere is fantastic- the place looks like it's straight of Paris. Loved the jazz music. Can't wait to go back!

I had the chilled noodles with beef which is the cream take of cold noodles. The slices of beef were a bit dry however, I did go there at the end of the day for dinner. The broth it's self was a bit bland for my taste and if anything the Korean take on their pickled cucumber was probably the... More

Description
Teaism is a local group of restaurants with three locations in DC. We're devoted to serving top quality loose leaf tea and healthy, cooked-from-scratch food. In a casual and funky setting, we are open through the day for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. A refuge for regulars and tourists alike, the restaurant features bento boxes, curries, sandwiches and salads. We're going "clean" eliminating high-fructose corn syrup, trans fats, antibiotics and GMOs and adding as much local and organic as possible. Be sure to enjoy one of our world famous Salty Oat Cookies!
