Fun, quiet booth with attentive service. I had the steak frites, which was classic, well presented and cooked to perfection. My companions had the lobster bisque which was a lobster with the soup poured over into the bowl at table; and the French onion soup...More

Ate here several times while staying at the hotel. For breakfast, enjoyed eggs Benedict and appreciated the strong coffee. For lunch or dinner, I highly recommend the crab cakes. Also had the beet salad (might have been on a different trip). Very good! Especially for...More

Bistro Bis was an amazing restaurant in all ways. The staff was very attentive kept the bread and sparking water flowing. It was a cold day so my girlfriend and I ordered French Onion Soup and it was one of the best I have ever...More

Four of us dined here last night, my choice. The noise level was moderate so we could talk fairly comfortably. The waitress came by soon, but rattled off the specials faster than we could follow, though recommending all the highest-priced ones, and wouldn't take our...More

I have eaten at plenty of Kimpton Hotel Restaurants as an inner circle member. Bland and boring is the memory I have of this location. It wasn't bad but wasn't great either.

Read a couple of recent reviews that suggested the service was not good. Will come to that in a minute-first and foremost the food is excellent. Fresh inventive cooking with a surprisingly (for the US) interesting menu. Our server was efficient and polite BUT the...More

I had the onion soup that was divine so I had high hopes for my main course. Those hopes were soon shattered. I ordered the Steak Frites and it was not edible. I had to throw it away because the steak was like eating a...More

The French onion soup is delicious. The service and behavior of the host and our server were unacceptable and rude. We had to constantly ask for water refills and server literally told us to “be quiet” until she goes through the menu and “hurry up”...More

This is one of my favorites in DC for breakfast. Great menu, and service is exceptional. Very convenient to Capitol Hill so a great place for early meetings. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Ok one of the reasons we go to restaurants is the wait staff. Steve has been our waiter for 14 years. Food this trip was better than last. Best beet salad anywhere. The onion soup is spectacular. Rock fish was good but not exceptional. Steak...More

I am always shocked at the attire of most tourists in our nation's capital. Please do not wear shorts, tank tops, t-shirts, sandals, baseball caps or leggings. Just don't do it.
