We had guests in town and decided to be adventurous. The restaurant is small, but cozy. The decor projects an authentic flair that many establishments in the area sometimes lack. We were seated promptly, but not rushed to order. Our choices were diverse from Momos to lamb shank, but it was all well-prepared and delicious. We are avid Indian cuisine... More

OK food, but terrible service. My food had not been delivered after an hour and a half so I called them. The guy who answered said that it was being delivered, and would be another 30-45 minutes (the guy claimed that it had been less than an hour). He then put a woman on the phone who said that I... Himalayan Heritage has long been one of my absolute favorite restaurants in DC. The restaurant has an enormous variety of Indian and Nepalese dishes to choose from for vegetarians and meat/fish lovers alike. Dishes containing nuts and/or gluten-free are clearly marked on the menu. For someone like me who can only handle the most mild dishes, it's thrilling when menu... More

We went for dinner at this place. We ordered chicken and vegetarian momos which were nice. We loved Nepali style Mutton curry. We thought okra vegetable and saag paneer could be better. Overall good experience. People are nice and the seating is comfortable.

My first time with dinning at a restaurant with food from Nepal. It was much better than Indian food. Fresher, better flavors and not as buttery or oily. Great options if you do not eat meat. Service was charming and the decor warm and inviting. It takes time for the food to be prepared, fresh!!!! Dumplings are much better than... More

Made it distinct by offering Indo-Napelese cusine. Most of the waiters nepalis. Not very affluent place.food reasonably priced.veg items really outstanding.we tried veg pakora and dry vegetable of potato spinach which were really very tasty.A naplese chicken dry dish called some choleas served with roasted rice were also very good. Waiters take their own time in serving.mostly visited by tourists..

I was most impressed by my trip to this restaurant serving a little-known cuisine in this area. I did walk in with some preconceived notions of how the food was going to taste. But what I came out with far outweighed those ideas as the dishes left me with a big smile from a sated stomach and my pleased gastronomic... More

Having lived in India for several years I was eager to find an authentic Indian restaurant in Washington, DC. After a visit to a nearby trendy eatery (which my Indian fellow diner found over-priced and inauthentic) we stumbled on Himalayan in Adams Morgan. Owned and staffed by an enthusiastic Nepali crew we found the food here tasty, authentic, not expensive... More
