Went for lunch with family and friends. The atmosphere is happy and inviting and the food isnt bad either. Excellent steak, scrumptious deserts and drinks. Great place to go for a day out. Prices are medium to high but its worth it..

My daughter likes this little cafe in an alley in Georgetown. One wall is all glass opening up to a courtyard with a fountain. In the summer, they have seating outside. But not tonight when we were there. It was raining. The desserts looked tempting...More

I really like the ambience of this place -- nice, lots of light, clean. For breakfast, there's not much on the menu that this place offers. I was disappointed with the selection. I ordered the egg and ham dish which was okay -- nothing spectacular...More

My wife, son and I had dinner at Kafe Leopold. Most restaurants in Georgetown were packed but this restaurant was not as busy - although about 2/3 full. We waited about 20 minutes before receiving water or having our order taken, and that was only...More

I visited Kafe Leopold with family and had a very good Austrian breakfast experience. 3/4 of us ordered waffles, which were really very good. The mochas and hot chocolates were excellent. No corners were cut making them. The mochas even came with a small glass...More

Three of us ate here for lunch. Although our grand daughter enjoyed her sandwich, my wife and I shared lentil soup and bratwurst and saurekraut which we did not enjoy. The saurerkraut had cut celery giving it a strange consistency. The soup tasted bland. We...More

The food was delightful (best almond croissants in the mid-Atlantic, fresh quiche, a savory croque monsieur - not too greasy), the service attentive, the mood festive for early Easter morning Sunday brunch with catchy jazz music in the background. Why, tell me why, are we...More

Wonderfully prepared and served specialty European coffees. Fine service, attentive but willing to let you alone to talk and enjoy.

No - they don't take them, but we went on a Sunday about noon and had only a ten minute wait.

Description
Forget all the cliches about heavy Austrian fare served by waiters in lederhosen. Leopold is about as Euro trendy as it gets, with an all-day coffee and drinks bar, an architecturally hip dining space, and a chic little patio complete with a minifountain. Food is pared-down Mitteleuropean: mushroom tart, crisp schnitzel paired with peppery greens, an endive salad with mustard dressing. In the middle of a design-obsessed alley just off of M Street, the cafe draws an artsy city crowd that's content to sit and watch the scene evolve, just as it's done in Europe. Brunch is a particularly popular setting for such people-watching manna, and the neat-as-a-pin breakfast is available daily until 4 pm. The perfect oasis for breakfast, lunch, dinner or anything in between. They have a very respectable wine list that compliment all the dinner specials. Reservations are taken for dinner only, starting at 5pm.
