Thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, the friendly service, the inventive and delicious food, and the open kitchen concept. All three of us loved everything we were served, particularly the chestnut soup (snack), blue crab, the rock fish, the heritage chicken, and the bourbon brown butter ice...cream. Our table was right next to the kitchen and it was so fun watching the food preparation over the wood fire.More

Excellent food, service and wine list. Don’t forget to try their cornbread… it’s great. Would go again without a doubt. THEIR MUSHROOMS ARE AMAZING

The Dabney projects a nice, homey atmosphere with its open kitchen and I was lucky enough to have a table close to it. The food is interesting and really flavorful. My only suggestion would be to slow down service between courses. My first snack course...arrived before my wine and I felt like each course arrived too quickly after the previous one. Despite that, I'd return for the food and the fact that they gave a solo diner a good table - that's always appreciated!More

Birthday dinner for me! My fiancé is a chef and restaurant owner and his long admire the talent of chef-owner Jeremiah Longhorne. From the minute we were greeted with genuine hospitality, to the outstanding service by Kate and the team, we were thrilled with our...food and drink experiences. Yo ho ho! The Real McCoy rum in a specialty cocktail: not on the radar. Locally sourced ingredients are evident and showcased. Big fan of the chilled corn soup with Maryland crab and the shishito peppers with preserved ramps, anchovy and benne. Special happy birthday menu for me which was very nice. My fiancé ordered the $10 supplement of their signature bloody butcher cornbread. I swear I was 240 dessert but when the toasted Benne ice cream, dark chocolate shell and honeycomb candy arrived, I had no willpower! And then… More treats from the kitchen! Little cookies, dance mint chocolate truffles and pâté De Fruit. I don’t know why I have this obsession with beautiful bathrooms but I even took a picture of it. Remember to tip well. Everybody working so hard. The Dabney is well worth the visit over and over again.More

We were so pleasantly surprised by the tasting meal. It gave us so many different flavors and chances to try things we may not have ordered on our own. It was our anniversary and we were visiting from New York and they went out of...their way to make the whole night special. The manager and our waiter were so kind and really made us feel comfortable and welcome. Amazing meal.More

Food and drinks were very good. The ambiance was a 1 however. Most of the staff were friendly. A few were super frigid. You go to these places for the full experience and unfortunately this place failed to deliver on that front. They took covid...awareness to a different level. Just to note we are very conciousness of this ourselves and take every precaution. Every time a server came around you had to mask up. In fact we were told at seating that while we are not drinking or eating we should mask up while sitting at the table. You literally have to keep.your mask on one hand all night. After a while it really got out of hand when you are on a 5 meal course. They said that was DC rules which I think was exaggerated. In the past weeks we had visited Bresca, Nobu and Blue Duck and we didn't experience the same policy. They should advertise their policy and let people know ahead of time of this when making reservations. It may seem like a small thing. But trust me when I say it was honestly annoying. Make sure to take a disposable mask otherwise you'll smell your dinner for a long time as many times we masked up. I don't think we ll go back again, perhaps when covid is all done with we'll give it another try .More

Food was extremely delicious. The snacks each complimented each other. I got the crab, which was luscious and well cooked. Decided to go with the chicken soup on a cold night and oh my gosh... It was the best chicken soup I have ever had....It was so vibrant with the greens and incredibly earthy, tied together with the warm broth. Dessert was also soooooo good!More

The Dabney has a Michelin star, which means it usually produces a good experience. Because of Covid I chose to purchase for delivery. The Trout was good, the chicken had no taste, the accompanying items good or medium. The logistics of ordering for take out...or delivery are too much work except for the true fans.More

It took us a while to get a reservation but it was worth the wait! This restaurant is outstanding - very fresh, creative and delicious food, beautifully displayed; wonderful service; open kitchen with wood-burning hearth (provides great entertainment!); very nice vibe. We loved every dish...we had: catfish dip, scallop crudo, farm egg, flank steak, glazed carrots (amazing!), cornbread, apple crumble, and more. The sommelier recommended a great bottle of wine. We loved our experience and will be back soon! Thank you to the amazing chef and staff at the Dabney.More
