We finally decided to give Ember's a try after seeing it for the last few years and hearing about the amazing food. We went for a Birthday Celebration on a Wednesday and made reservations in advance for 5:00, we were seated immediately upon arrival and...waiter was right there to take a drink order. We ordered Wine and Beer for drinks, and then the Avocado and Roasted Beet Salad for the appetizer which was extremely good and flavorful. for the main course we decided on the Blackened Albacore and the Grilled Jadori Chicken, and both again were delicious and very flavorful, with the Fresh Baked Bread, appetizer and main course, we were full and decided to skip dessert, but they did have a couple of desserts that looked very appealing. We also saw several of the other main courses delivered to the table around us, and they looked amazing as well, there were a number of items on the menu that looked good. As the evening went on, by 6:00 they were pretty full, so would probably suggest going earlier in the evening rather then later. Also may find some parking challenges later in the evening as well, as they do seem to have limited parking available. I have been thrilled with Ember ever since it opened here in Arroyo Grande. It is sooooo un-Arroyo Grande-like! Prices are high but so what? We don’t go there every week. This time I had to speak to a bus person because he literally RACED...up to our table to see if we had dishes he could remove. He was carrying dirty dishes from other tables. They were not on a tray. How gross. It really detracted from the ambience and meal. The waitpersons need additional training. There is an atmosphere of “racing” to clear tables and move things on. Brian, I hope you read your reviews. It was two of us and we were there on our mutual birthday. I had indicated that on-line and also told our waitperson. But at the end of the meal nothing was said about a birthday dessert. The End.More

Wonderful cuisine, atmosphere & service. Not a pretentious location but a solid menu and a bakery next door.

Used to enjoy dinner here, but after our experience tonight we will never be back. My wife made reservations (two weeks ago) when we heard we had family coming to town. She then called (a few days ago) and confirmed our dinner reservations again. Upon...arriving for dinner tonight, an employee approached us to notify that our reservation had been cancelled because my wife had not responded to a email they'd sent earlier this morning.(Huh?) To sum it up, you cannot eat at Ember without a reservation, but cannot secure a reservation unless you know to watch for (and respond to) emails sent from the restaurant. I have dined at restaurants of every type (all over the world) but have yet to ever find a restaurant with such a back asswards system for managing reservations. I wouldn't waste your time making reservations someplace that cannot guarantee a table, even two weeks out... That said, quality of food means nothing when the management is so piss poor that you never actually eat. Epic Failure!!!!!More

Outstanding, if not best, restaurant in AG/Pismo area. Been numerous times and have yet to be disappointed. Great food, solid staff and a fun, active vibe…make a reservation or you might be left out. Highly recommended.

Great food. Try the house specialty - Lasagna. A very popular restaurant. May be difficult to get in unless you have reservations.

We went for dinner on July 1, '21 to celebrate a Special anniversary. Our first and hopefully last time there. We were greeted with smiles and anniversary congratulations, then escorted to our table in the extreme back corner of the restaurant. Other than my lovely...bride, I had only a view of the back wall, 3 ft away. The music was extremely loud and the crowd was louder. The atmosphere was not conducive to dinner conversation. After 10 minutes, the waiter arrived. Actual meal service was prompt. We ordered rib eye $50 and fillet $56. Meal quality was good and tasty, but not exceptional. Jocko's in Nipomo, or Windows in Morro Bay offers exceptional quality and better value. Ember is overpriced for the value. Definitely NOT the best restaurant on the coast.More
