Fun atmosphere with all ages in a beautiful setting. Great place to eaT or just go get a drink with friends. Staff is really friendly. Be prepared to wait on the weekends for a table, depending on the time. It is well worth it.

Everyone was friendly...the food was delicious...had a difficult time choosing from the menu--everything "looked" so good...They also had specials that were very tempting.

Average food. The service was pretty good. There was an event downtown, so we had an hour wait, but heard it was worth it. Our server made a mistake on my wife's drink, so he brought the right one. Even though it's not what I...More

Met another couple for dinner. Their beer selection was very good with good descriptions of all their beers. The best was probably the beer flight sampler. The dinners were not great. My wife and I had different rib dishes. The 3 ribs each were mostly...More

The food is good. The beers are pretty good. My husband and I usually split the herbed fried chicken 'cause it is a full breast not just a half. The beers are good, but they are usually out of the one we like best, which...More

My five friends and I all enjoyed the appetizers, meals, and beer. There was a long wait, however, because they did not take phone reservations. The wait was soon forgotten because of the good food and service. The manager checked on our table several times,...More

We love to try and support local micro-breweries and were impressed at the Auburn Alehouse. It was super busy at lunchtime on a Thursday, but we found two hightop seats in the bar area. Although a bit noisy, it was great fun. Ordered two salads...More

The food and service is great! The ambience is a little too loud due to an old building. Hard to hear each other talk. During the summer great patio dining area. Also throughout the year there is live music

Brian & Lisa Ford opened Auburn Alehouse Brewery & Restaurant in 2007 in the iconic Shanghai Restaurant, embracing the building's character and colorful history in the heart of Historic Auburn. While enjoying their full bistro menu, patrons can often see Brian & his brewers making world-class beer in small batches, using only the finest malted barley and American-grown hops. With a collection of prestigious awards hanging on the wall it's easy to see why the SacBee recently said Auburn Alehouse is one of the region's premier craft breweries. Favorites include the Gold Digger IPA (CA State Fair Gold Medal Winner), Gold Country Pilsner (GABF Gold Medal Winner), Hop Donkey (GABF Silver Medal Winner) and PU240 IPA! Lunch and Dinner are served every day, while our Brunch menu is served on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-noon. Don't forget we have a dog friendly patio!
