Love this place and always try to visit when in Auburn. Great food, friendly people. I'm not a drinker buy my sis-in-law says this is the best bloody Mary anywhere! And the bacon flight is FABULOUS!

Hungry? Want great food? Want excellent service? Want good value? Stop here. From the perfectly spicy bloody Mary’s to the super tender Cubano to the tasty (and real tuna) Tuna Sandwich to the fluffy pancakes - everything ordered exceeded expectations. One of those local, small...town feel gems that will bring a smile (a little mouth watering) when you think back on your stop there. A must visit. PS- sorry there are no food pics - we couldn’t wait to eat. But the pics would not have disappointed either.More

We've lost a few of our favorite restaurants during these ridiculous shut downs and curfews, but fortunately Awful Annie's is not only surviving, they're doing well. As long as there's any place to sit outside, they'll continue to do well because the food is always...so good and the service matches it. Hard to find any faults with this place, we've been going here for over thirty years and love the people and the food. Support this locally owned restaurant in any way you can, this repressive era will end and we want Awful Annie's to still be in business despite the efforts to destroy the restaurants of California.More

We stopped in for breakfast & enjoyed a great breakfast out on the patio. If you like eggs Benedict, they have many versions. Waitresses all work masks correctly & followed covid regulations. If we lived nearby, this would become one of our regular stops. Highly...recommend them.More

We were on a backpacking trip to Sierras and ordered 5 takeout meals from Awful Annies in Auburn on Mon July 6. Host and takeout waitress were very friendly and helpful. Place was packed with guests and had a nice ambiance. 4 meals were great....Breakfast burrito very greasy. Biggest issue, however, was when my daughter and I went to their bathroom we were both astonished to see most waitresses with their masks barely on and below their noses and in one case, a waiter had his mask pulled completely below his chin while talking with a table, defeating the entire purpose. And another major shock was seeing one food prep person with their mask around their neck! Made us concerned about eating the food, but we did as we were counting on a big meal b4 backpacking. Not sure if there is any connection, but 3 out of 4 of us had diarrhea for much of our 5 day backpacking starting that evening. If we had known servers and food prep personnel were so careless, we wouldn't have ordered there.More

I went to their original location in Old Town Auburn several times and was very impressed, but in recent years it's quality went down, food not as good. I tried their new location in hopes things had improved with added space, they hadn't. This place...was once very good, but I'm sad to say it isn't any more. Average.More

Pass by a lot, the restaurant parking lot is always packed, but stopped by to eat breakfast one day for the first time. What a treat. I had the Eggs Benedict and my husband had an omelette. The portions are huge but the food is...beautifully cooked and presented with obvious attention to detail. The staff is friendly and efficient and a lot of the customers appear to be regulars. There is a busy bar and the Bloody Marys seemed to be popular but I had the Mimosa with local Mandarin freshly squeezed juice which was delicious. Will definitely be back.More

You can check out their menu online. I don't know if they have lettuce wraps.
