Unexpectedly good! Order from a little window and then pick up at another. The first time I just got a slice of cheese pizza and my husband got the shrimp po boy. Both were excellent. I liked the pizza so much that we had it...the next night for dinner. YumMore
Very good pizzas and super friendly service! The menu includes a variety of hot sandwiches, salads, and chowder. Root beer floats sound good too! Mission Pizza is currently only open for take-out, but we will be back!
I've eaten their pizzas 4 times over the years. Three times they were excellent, and the other time only very good. On our most recent trip (early this week) I had the "Mexicali" pizza. It was a solid 9" in size and loaded with toppings,...including lots of spicy jalapeños. I like that not only do they load the toppings on, they bring them to the edge of the pizza. This has been the case each time. The crusts have also been very good—they have been fine for themselves and they complement the toppings very well. The pizza was $13. I have also had their salad, which is about what one would expect from a take-our pizza place. It was good sized, lots of lettuce, sliced mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, cheese and croutons. And maybe something else, I don't recall. The salad was $7 which surprised me, because I recalled that they had a small dinner salad at one time at $4.More
If you’re staying in Avila Beach and want a great pizza fast, call Mission Pizza. Kitchen is tied to the Custom House and ran by their Staff. It’s always our choice for a quick pizza fix when we’re in town. We got the BBQ Pizza...this time and were not disappointed. Give them a try!More
The clam chowder had more clams than all of the chowders I've had in the past 3 weeks put together. And they are a pizzeria, not a seafood place. 2 thumbs up. The veggie pizza was well covered with toppings but the crust was just..."there". no real flavor.More
First time experiencing the cuisine at Mission pizza and it was pretty good. The seafood was fresh and their pizza was delicious.

Similar to other reviewer, this was our first time to Avila Beach, and under COVID-19 restrictions, we were happily surprised that most things were open (with required masks, etc). Our kids wanted pizza, so Mission Pizza looked good. It was take-out only. Our teenagers devoured...the margherita (cheese) pizza. It looked decent. We had fish and chips and clam chowder, which were fair. The fish seemed to be frozen, so it was a little rubbery. The chowder was thick, but more on the potatoey side than clam side. This was our first time in Avila Beach. With the current pandemic situation upon us, choices for eating out (take out!) are very limited. We tried another establishment first. It was OKAY, but left us wanting more. Mission Pizza was our second AND third night...dinner choices. We had two completely different pizzas (their all meat called Butcher Block & night #2 the Chicken Club) PLUS their house salad that is a great deal for what you get. THEN I ordered some hot wings that were just fantastic. Great experience all the way around.More
had a very average pizza to go . Crust was relatively tasteless. Scant toppings. Not a bad pie mind you tho very mediocre. They could and should do better. Prices are what you'd expect. Its basically a "to go" place tho there are a smattering...of tables. Cant recommendMore
