What was Mrs. Rivera's Kitchen is now Juanito's Mexican Kitchen. It serves authentic Mexican food such as is found in the Mexican state of Michoacán. Different taste from what is normally found in these parts. Prices are reasonable. Currently the daily special--Mondays it is a beef enchilada, a cheese enchilada, rice and beans plus the typical corn tortilla chips and... More

Good food, good service, reasonable prices. Owner stopped by to check on us and was super friendly. Much better than the excessive chains in Alamosa.

Stopped for lunch during a trip to the Great Sand Dunes. Affable servers and excellent food. We are used to top notch Mexican food in Denver, make our own at home, and are picky. The Barbacoa Burrito with green chile, rice and beans was one of the best meals I've had at a restaurant this year. Fresh cilantro leaves were... More

Stopped in for lunch after being recommended by a colleague. Very good food, the sopapilla was the best we have ever had, and we eat Mexican food all the time. Try this slightly out of the way dive, you won't regret it.

We visited Alamosa during the first weekend of July, and we decided to try Juanito's Restaurant. We are so glad that we did! Our server was very friendly, and the owner came to our table to greet us and sat down to chat with us. The food was delicious! We will definitely return to Juanito's the next time we are... More

Passing through town, went here for a change instead of Caravillo. Atmosphere and service good, friends' dishes were good if average, but I was really let down by the taco salad, seriously I've had better at Taco Bell, which is where I go if I want cheap. For $9+ I found it was mostly lettuce, nearly no chicken on it... More

Our waiter was the bartender, chef and owner. This place was excellent. If it isn't on the menu exactly the way you want it, they will make it. The food came out hot and fresh. The margarita's were made perfectly. The price is unbeatable for what you get. The owner was very nice, I wish they were in my home... More

This place is the real deal. Great, authentic Mexican food and outstanding margarita's. The waiter, Joe, was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Good spirited and very conscientious. We ate two days in a row on the way down to Santa Fe and the next day on the way back. We highly recommend it. If you are on... More
