Stopped at this Saloon, this highest in the lower 48. Pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavor rich food. I had a burger that was excellent. However there were two other items that I had that were nothing less than incredible. My burger came with...fries. I do not usually eat fries because I a Keto Karnivore. So I give them to my wife. If I do have a couple of fries it is rare. I tasted the fries that came with my meal. The seasoning was nothing less than incredible! Had too many fries and broke my Keto. It was worth it. Second was the dill pickle that came with my meal. I love dill pickles. I developed a love for dill pickles when I was a child. I knew an ex-Navy cook that made home-made pickles. I have never found a pickle that came near those pickles, until now. If you love dill pickles then you absolutely stop here. The Saloon is very neat and clean. My server was very good. I met the Chef, I am sad that I did not write her name down. So was extremely pleasant and gave me a few pickles to go. I am eating them as I write this review. If you are passing through Alma you have to stop here. You will not be disappointed. Stop and have Dill Pickles and Fries with a side of Burger.More

That’s what the T-shirts claim, and they might be right, I don’t know. What I do know is that the buffalo wings and the pizza (yeah, pizza, who would have thought I’d find thin crust pizza here!) were very good, the drinks-generous and service friendly,...efficient and with a smile. **More

More than typical bar food! Burgers, pizza, chicken pot pie, and more. Cold beer too. Great place to relax and be a part of the locals.

South Park Saloon is located in Alma, Colorado, apparently the country's highest incorporated town at 10,578 feet, as a sign leading into town proudly proclaims, although there seems to be some discussion and confusion over this. It's pretty much the only thing there is to...do in town, apart from its natural splendor of course. South Park Saloon, the self-proclaimed highest saloon in the USA, is a scruffy neighborhood/biker bar that offers cold brews and hot food. It doesn't try (or need) to be fancy, it just is what it is. No fancy decoration here showing off the historic value of the property as you see in so many other places. We went in for a couple of beers after hiking McCullough Gulch earlier. And oh yeah, for all you South Park cartoon lovers out there, the show does take its name after the town and the surrounding basin, but the town itself bears no resemblance to the one in the tv show.More

Wings are prebaked to seal in flavor then frozen and deep fried when you order. Very tasty like I make at home. Parmesan garlic were fantastic and the local atmosphere works for this place. The pot pies look like a great reason for another stop.

We recently stayed in Alma for 4 days, so had to try out the South Park Saloon for one of our meals. On our way in/out of town it always seemed to be busy. Would be nice if they had a slightly larger draft menu,...but found a beer I liked. Food was good bar food. Wait staff was friendly. Would stop again if I ever find myself in Alma again!More

We had to try this out and were VERY impressed. The owners were great (found out she is an educated Chef). The atmosphere is rustic and fun. The menu was really the winner overall. We saw people with great-looking all-the-fixings burgers and home-made fries. But...we went with a more non-traditional dish, and it was really enjoyable. Good variety and really a "Find" up here in a small mining town. Good for kids, too. It's a good idea to go to their website and see their hours.More

We were traveling and decided to go based solely on the "highest saloon in the US" and are so glad we stopped in. We had a couple beers and two wines along with the blackened chicken quesadilla and really enjoyed ourselves. It's nothing fancy, just...a great "locals" spot to enjoy good food and service. Our server was Heather and she was very attentive and professional. We will be back ;)More
