Omar's cooked our Mackerel catch to perfection, giving us two varieties: Creole style in a tomato-based sauce, and oven grilled with onions and peppers. Both were outstanding and were served with coconut rice, coleslaw and a fried plantain. Because we told them to keep the leftover of the two cleaned fish we brought them, they surprised us by giving us... More

When we asked about some good places to eat for authentic local food, Omar's was named by several, local people. So, we had some seafood there our first night in town. The atmosphere and food were good. We were just getting used to being in a seaside town that was busy during the big Easter holiday and weekend celebration, after... More

The night I went it seemed like they were out of almost everything on the menu. I think when you are known for your fish that probably happens because fish just weren't being caught at that time. Anyway instead of being brave and ordering something I wasn't really sure about I ordered chicken. It was fine just nothing special. I... More

We were told that Omar has the best fish in town if not in whole Belize. So expectations were high when we went there. We can't say if it's the best seafood in Belize but it was good. Unfortunately, there was some toilet-smell on the veranda which was the main reason we didn't stay too long. Service is friendly.

We'd heard great things about Omar's but were underwhelmed on our visit. The staff was friendly enough, the food just was mediocre. Disappointed because others reviewed it so highly. Maybe just an off night?

Omar's has the best seafood in Placencia, and maybe the best seafood I've ever had in my life. Definitely make a stop if you're there for lobster season, but it's worth it regardless. The snapper was amazing as well. The atmosphere is great and it's BYOB, which was a huge plus. Sheldon was our waiter every night we went. He... More

Omar's was another spot I wanted to try while in Placencia. After having some delicious meals around the city, this place disappointed me a little. The lobster was ok...not even close to the size and quality at rumfish. My gf tried to order a few different items and they were out....she wanted a Jamaican patty but they were out, then... More
